Hello, I live in MO and have many banana plants (basjoo). I am in the process of building a green house and really need to move at least one or two, is it too late to move it now? I don't want it to die so if moving it will lessen its chances of surviving the winter I will work around. Any one move one this time of year with success?

I moved 2 basjoos in the middle of the summer, but they were only like 2-3ft tall at the time and tried not to break many roots by taking around a 50lb root ball each by cutting down around all the sides, then popping the plant out.

They still looked droop for a couple days, but quickly recovered and they were planted in open locations 1ft below soil surface to hopefully protect the corms a bit better. They have since then grown to 5-6ft with 4 pups on one and 5 on the other.

I think as long as you get enough of the roots, the transplant shouldn't be too bad.
