I'm about to order some new fancy banana seeds :D but I really have a hard time making up my mind. I was wondering what kind of species are most suitable to grow outside in zone 7. Is it better to leave any of these species out with some protection or to dig them up and store them dark and cool?
Thanks in advance! :)

Musa basjoo can grow in a zone 7 with little protection and as Musella and musa velutina can survive a zone 7 with protection. Musa velutina is suppose to grow very easily from seed.
Im not sure if these bananas will do well in a sweden zone 7 since your winters are longer and colder than a zone 7 in the eastern USA, but if you have any doubts, you can easily dig them up, pot them up, bring them inside, and plant them in the ground again the next summer!

Musa mannii comes back earlier than all of my other bananas here in zone 7. In addition to the ones that palmtree noted, I would add:
Musa itinerans var. itinerans
Musa sikkimensis and M. sikkimensis hybrids (some hardier than others)
Musa yunnanensis (mine died this past winter with no protection though)
There are others that I'm blanking on...but that'll give you a good start. Check other threads in the cold-hardy banana forum to find out others.
