Feel free to show your Autumn peeks here as well...

I went for a Thanksgiving bikeride this afternoon and took some shots around my neighborhood of some our trees that have turned color.

We are called the "Forest City" because we have more trees than you can imagine! Here's some October peeks...

More Autumn in my own living room! :ha:

I grew this little Japanese Red Maple from seed a bit ago but it remained green for the longest time. Recently it's begun to turn red! Here's a shot I took of it today...

Nice pics! You might have lots of trees, but Winnipeg actually has the largest urban forest park in Canada, along with the largest urban Elm forest in Canada. You get more fall colour than we do, though!

Wow, I'd sure love to see some shots of beautiful Manitoba too, if you get a chance Kevin. ;) Those forests sound fabulous!

Gonna show more pics soon but hope others will as well...

Beautiful shots Hollyberry . I'll post some shortly since we're a few weeks behind you up there in the frozen tundra!:ha:

I wish we had all the sugar maples you do down here... always loved them.

I wish we had all the sugar maples you do down here... always loved them.
Yup, they are scarce here too, not because of the climate, but because they were quite invasive and people just "took care" of 'em.

Sherry,

I'm happy to know that you are enjoying the fall colors months ahead of us. Bob is a few weeks behind you, and I'm about a month or more behind you.

The first time I discovered the beauty of fall in North America was at Stony Brook, NY. I couldn't believe how red or orange those leaves turned. In North Georgia, the mountains in Helen City, two hours north of Atlanta, would be completely in red, yellow, or orange in two weeks; it was quite a spectacular sight the only time I visited Helen.

Thank you for showing us how beautiful Canada, or Forest City, is this time of year.

this is scene that was right behind me whan I took that pic below:

thats a real Croatia at this moments.
Ruin and empty old houses and yards, broken fences and empty slots.
For generations now ppls here migrate to all over the World, if U google a bit U will be surprise whan U find out how many croats live in Canada at this same moment:ha:
U cant work for living here :(
We are still too obssest with history, corumpted politics and s**ts like that that we somehow succseed to forget about all the beautyes we have arround.
Wow, what would I do if I knew to write and speak just a bit better :ha:

It's true Ante...where there is beauty, there is also ugliness...

Here in London too, amongst all our beautiful trees, we have a problem with homeless people that is increasingly growing by the day. Health care cuts too, have seen a lot of mentally ill people on the streets with no medication!

We have our problems too, so don't think we don't. :(

I think your English is great Ante, and no doubt it will improve as time goes on. Thanks again for your great shots and please keep them coming...

Here are some of the colors in my yard:

I almost waited too long for my little cypress trees - they lose their leaves very fast when they start changing color

Chinaberry fruit is ripe and leaves are changing color - this is a pretty tree but not good for kids and animals as the berries are poisonous
http://www.bananas.org/gallery/watermark.php?file=37838&size=1 (http://www.bananas.org/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=37838&ppuser=5614)

http://www.bananas.org/gallery/watermark.php?file=37840&size=1 (http://www.bananas.org/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=37840&ppuser=5614)

And this is I believe lichen that is changing color
http://www.bananas.org/gallery/watermark.php?file=37836&size=1 (http://www.bananas.org/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=37836)

I love the different colors on the crepe myrtles. Each color flower has different color fall leaves. They are very pretty even without flowers!

Being from Winnipeg, it's always surprising to see pics of open water with lots of snow in December. It's obviously not that cold where you are. Either that, or you have had a thaw recently.

Nice pics, though.

The Hollyberry Lady

It's rare for us to have lasting snow in December as well, and some years we've even had a green Christmas!

Tonight with the windchill, we're sitting at -16°C...3°F! How's that for cold?! ;)

Hope it leaves by March. I'm sick of it already.

Kevin

Yeah, Southern Ontario is pretty mild. We have even had at least one Christmas with almost no snow. Very rare for us.

Try -27C with no windchill.

I wish the snow would be gone by March!

Not really. It's winter in Canada, so cold and snow. Although for southern Ontario, yes, it would be a bit cold. Unfortunately, the majority of Canada's population lives in zone 5 or up. For me, winter starts in November and ends in April.

I think it is Yaupon Holly. That is a pretty common one around here.
