Wow, do you believe this thread has 5000 posts now!!!
: )

I have ordered from there once before. I got my nelumbo nucifera from there :) Yay 5000 post! :D Hope everyone that is feeling bad starts feeling better soon :) I am trying to get my stupid windows computer working again. My anti virus is giving me troubles. If I didn't need Windows for school and itunes I would put linux on this computer also

I think my neighbor is three sheets to the wind!
I thought it was weird when I got home...their door was wide open and they were blasting their stereo full-rip, but I couldn't see anyone. A few minutes ago I heard some guy cursing and swearing and then it sounded like he fell face down...all I heard was a big loud KERBOOM! :ha: Now it's so quiet you could hear a pin drop! He must have passed out.
Yes, I've ordered Nelumbo from them too Jordan...my very first order actually.
I hope I don't get sick too. I would hate it.
So far, so good. :D

I'm always sick, but the flu might impact me more then usual :ha:
I would be wondering if they where ok.... But then again after yelling I don't know if I would go to check :ha:
The Hollyberry Lady
01-05-2012, 08:37 PM
Sucks that you're sick a lot Jordan. You must hate it.
If they were normal people I would seriously check on them, but they're not. Besides that, there's more than one person over there so let them be the ones! :ha:
It's all quiet now so I think they've crashed out. I would never check on people who are loaded like that...I'd let the police do it. Lord knows what could happen if I went over there. I'm not exactly intimidating looking. :ha:
: )

Ya, I would stay away from them :ha::ha::ha:
Sounds a lot like the trailer park I live in! :ha::ha::ha:

When I first moved here, this was a great place to live with respectable people. Management is everything though and with bad owners now, the place has gone to sh*t. Too bad but that's the way it is.
Yeah, I'd be afraid of being shot if I went to check on anyone around here. I just keep to myself and mind my own business. However there is one person in here who looks after someone's dog during the day and I've seen her abusing it! I am going to call the humane society on her because when an animal or child is being abused, it's all of our responsibilities to report it.
G'night gang. I imagine everyone's gone to bed now. I'm heading that way shortly myself.

Jordan I hope you are feeling better today. Sherry there are several maypops that grow wild here. A friend said there are some off a highway in Dallas. I got a Rhipsalis plant today. Its very interesting

Neat plant, Cam! :waving:
Well I called about that "lady" today who's abusing the neighbor's dog. I even have some of it on tape...her out of control and screaming at the poor thing. :( I've never seen or heard anything like it. The people she is watching it for have no idea, but they will now.
People really should be careful about who they leave their animals and kids with. I cannot tolerate animals, children, and elderly people being mistreated. I sure hope that poor dog has seen the last of her and her crap. What a mean bitch!
Cam, thanks to you, I've got a hankering for pork chops! I've got one in my toaster oven cooking now! :ha:
So I found out my mom has a throat infection...she's got a cough from hell because of it! Today they gave her this really strong cough medicine and something to kill the bacteria on her throat. We were together all season but she's the only one who got sick. Really sucks.
So what are you guys up to tonight?
: )

01-06-2012, 07:25 PM
I can't stand seeing anything being mistreated. I would definitely call the humane society.
I am feeling ok today, got a pretty bad headache but it went away in time for me to plant the plants I got from Chance1945 :D
Here is the extremely good looking sago palm :) :D

Thanks once again :D These are pretty cool plants!
I am not going to order any sago palm seeds. I have a very nice one now :) I am still going to order the other pack of seeds though, the Operculicarya decaryi.

The little adenium is so cute and perfect looking :D It's kind of chubby to :D Which always helps with caudiciforms :)

Thanks once again Chance for the awesome plants :D Maybe I could send you some seeds or something in spring.

The Hollyberry Lady

Thanks, Cam!
I sure enjoy garlic bread with cheese on it. Yummy!
I'm eating late tonight.

Once it warms up we will see if you want anything I have then :)
I love these plants :) I have wanted a sago palm for quite some time now :ha:
I tried to rescue a sago palm about 3 years ago, it had root rot so bad it lost all of its root and wouldn't root back afterwards. Then this last one I got a couple months ago did the same thing.
I wish stores took better care of their plants. I bet they would all get better sales if they did.
I ordered my seeds from seedrack last night :) Maybe I will get them soon :)
I am probably going to be playing on my PS3 more today, :D

Good evening, pals.
Ok Jordan, but don't expect me to want much because I've got nearly everything I need and want. ;) I really gotta shorten that seed list. :ha: It's ridiculously long!
Mmmmmm....those sound good Cam. Never had them before. I had Greek food tonight...

Hi gang! :waving:
Sounds like everyone has been having a good time.
I love a Greek Gyros with lamb and goat cheese. Oh my gosh they are good! Yours looks delicious too Sherry though I don't think I have ever tried that.
Been super busy, have a lot of things going on right now. It was 77 degrees today! Can you believe that? This is usually our coldest month. That usually doesn't bode well for our summer temps! But I sure am enjoying this weather.
Hope everyone has a great evening!!!!

Nice to see you, Janan. ;) Yeah, I love Greek food. Maybe I better find me a Greek boy! :ha: The guy I'm dating is Italian. That's ok though because I love Italian food too! :ha:
I was trying to find a comical shot of Filbert...my one frog. My frogs and betta fish are continuing to do well.

Went to that Greenhouse yesterday but they were closed, so I went there this morning and they had nothing but 75% off Christmas ornaments! I only saw Poinsettias and Thanksgiving cacti plants. Really sucked!
Hope everyone's ok and having a good Monday so far. Just got home.

Hi Sherry. It finally rained here today lol. I wish I could have found other varieties of Christmas cactus. I only found pink and red this year. I told my mom that I want to look at the amaryllis bulbs on clearance.
The Hollyberry Lady
01-09-2012, 09:13 PM
I still have that white one for ya Cam, but it's a little too cold to send it now. :ha: We never have anything other than pink, white, purple, and red.
We've got lots of Amaryllis bulbs on clearance here too. Hope you find a nice one. ;)
Just loading some pics...

Thanks Sherry. I'm probably going to wait until next year for the amaryllis bulb. Hopefully there will be some new varieties.

G' Morning Cam! I noticed Amaryllis on sale too! The most unusual color was a white with a red striped throat. I can't remember the name of it.
All our Lowe's only had red and pink Thanksgiving cactus this year, but H Depot had a few other colors, but the plants looked all droopy. I'm glad I got mine when I did. My favorite of my own this year was that yellow one that looked pink before it bloomed. I can send you a couple of starts of that the next time I send you a package.

Hi Janan! How have you been? It finally rained here, I hope you got some rain too. That amaryllis sounds beautiful. I'm still waiting for my BestSeller flower bud to get bigger. Right now its at a standstill. I really want to see the raspberry blooms on it. My Vitattum hybrid produced a couple of babies but my other ones didn't. I had a yellow Thanksgiving cactus last year but it kept losing segments. I managed to save a few and I gave them all to a friend. I think the yellow Thanksgiving cactus plants don't like me LOL

Good Afternoon!
Hi y'all! Hope you guys are having a great Tuesday so far. I just got home.
I love January...such a sunshiney month. :D It's bright and gorgeous today with no snow on the ground and warmer temps than what we're accustomed to for this time of year.
Ok here's what I'll be sending out tomorrow...I was supposed to send stuff today but my magic marker was as dry as a desert so I couldn't label the last box...plus my mom was here early this morning wanting me to go out for the day. I've got something for Janan, Jordan, and Cam...plus my grandparents too. Oh and I'm re-mailing Tommy some seeds because he never got them the first round.
Picked up another magic marker. :ha: Plus I went to this cute little birdhouse store and they had some plants. I got a Jade plant that's in this really cool pot that looks like a hollowed out rock. The jade itself looks like a little bonsai tree. I must show a shot of it shortly so you guys can see how unique it is. They only had one left. It wasn't really a plant store but they just had a few.
Anyone still around? :waving:

You jade is a "baby" jade I think Sherry. They have smaller leaves than regular jade do. Other then that maybe it just is growing with smaller leaves, I can't think of any other reasons right now.
Looking forward to getting my light bulb :) It will help my dragon fruit Janan sent me a lot :)

Any luck finding them yet, Tom?
Ok so I forgot about one other person from another site that I wanted to get a box ready for...which I just finished doing. I also had forgot to put something in the box for my grandparents so I had to re-open it! What a hassle.
Everything is completely ready to mail now. :goteam:
I have four boxes going to the US and two in Canada! Plus another envelope of seeds for Tommy that he didn't get the first time. I'm going out first thing in the morning with the load. Boy they're gonna love me tomorrow down at the P.O. :ha:
Ok so Cam, I boxed up a bulb for ya, along with some seeds. Hopefully you can screw it into your desk lamp and it will help your lucky bamboo along. I'm growing peppers under mine.
Janan and Jordan, there's a bulb for you guys too and a few seeds. Janan, I've included the Alpines, Marble, Hahm's Gelbe tomato...and something else I forget. Oh and the angel nightlight is in there too. ;)
I'm just gonna send everything regular post since there are no plants that have to arrive fast. They say 7-10 business days. Hope you guys enjoy everything.
Ok so I just wanted to let you guys know what was happening so you wouldn't be wondering. I hope you're all having a great Wednesday. :D
Oh yeah and I gotta remember to get the US money order so I can mail my order to J.L. Hudson tomorrow as well.

The SunMaster bulb is no different than your fluorescent Aero-Garden bulbs Cam...except you grow the plants in soil. You're gonna love it. :goteam:
You can grow one mature plant under it, or several seedlings at a time.
Oh yeah Jordan and Cam...I included some mixed Cacti seeds in your boxes from this packet...
http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo193/hollyberrylady08/3rd%20album/IMG_3916.jpg
It says on the packet that they're fun to sprout all year round. I couldn't resist sowing a few while I was packing them up for you two. :ha:
I also included some colorful plastic plant labels for all you guys so you could stick them in the pots when you sow the seeds. :)
Cam, I included some of my alpine strawberry seeds for you because they are such a success in my A-G...thought you might wanna give them a try too. Jordan and Janan have seeds for my Alpines as well. :D
: )
jreidsma
01-11-2012, 09:56 PM
Thanks :)
What types of cacti are in that packet? Usually it says what ones are in it.
You only supposed to be able to grow one plant under the desktop lamps? I grow all my plants under them and only have three.
And why does the cacti packet say annual! :ha::ha::ha::ha::ha::ha: I have never heard of an annual cacti before ;) :ha::ha::ha:

Everything is officially mailed!!! :goteam:
I just got home from the P.O. :08:
I sent everything priority post so you guys would have a tracking number. They're guaranteed to arrive in 7-10 business days. I'll pm the track codes to you momentarily, Janan, Jordan, and Cam. ;)
Tommy...your seeds are in the mail too. :D
Jordan, it only said various desert plants on the back of the cactus seed packet. Here they would be considered annuals outdoors because our winters would kill them off.
Of course you can grow as many plants as you guys want under your bulbs but the plant that's directly beneath the bulb will grow the fastest and the most. Maybe I'll show my marble seedlings now that they're ok again. They were nearly taken down by pests.
Tommy...you should try to sprout your Alpine seeds in as cool an area as you can, but not freezing. The seeds are so fresh though, they might just germinate wherever! :ha: I'd get a mist bottle to help things along.
Chat soon...

Oh yeah Cam...remember that packet of giant sunflower seeds I got you in late summer? They're on their way! :D
Did anyone track their package yet? I think they'll go out in the morning.

Sherry thanks for the sunflower seeds too. I still have some sunflowers blooming outdoors right now even with freeze damage lol. I collected over 200 seeds from the one Russian Mammoth bloom. This year I want to plant several and have a lot of sunflowers in my garden. I woke up with a sore throat this morning so I took some daytime medicine. My sister was sick last week so I think I caught it from her

I couldn't think of anyone better to give them to than you Cam...you grow sunflowers awesome! :D I hope you like these one. I think they're called Giants or something like that. :ha:
I'm just leafing through another seed catalogue and making dinner. It's snowy and crappy out.
Hope you guys are having a fabulous Friday!

I usually stay in on a Friday the 13th, but we ventured out to dinner at our favorite Mexican Restaurant.
This morning one of our vehicles wouldn't start (the one DH has been driving back and forth to work).
I did get two, out of the three, of my Strawberry seed orders today and a large seed catalog. So I am rifling through mine too.
So all in all it hasn't been too bad. :)

I must admit that I am jealous that you got your seeds today and I only mailed away my first order yesterday!
Why you! :ha:
And that is saying something to have even beaten the Hollyberry Lady in ordering early! You really are a fanatic, aren't you? :ha:
Well, I'm not gonna order anything else uless it's super special. J.L. Hudson is gonna set me up with everything I'll need for this year I think.
And just who do I think I'm kidding? :ha: They'll be another order in the mail by 8pm this evening. LoL.
Someone please help me to not order a thousand seeds this spring.

Yep, it sure is Cam. And I have had my share of bad ones, so I am very cautious and superstitious about it. How about you?
And what about you Jordan, are you? How are you feeling today? :03:
I know everyone has been talking about colds. I know the cedar pollen here is extremely high right now and I think I have "cedar fever".

I feel ok today.
As long as nothing happens I am running around to places with my parents tomorrow. My father is leaving to North Carolina again to help my grandparents Sunday.
Hope I get my seeds tomorrow, and it would be nice if the raspberry pi would be released also ;)

She is doing better. She got a blood clot in her legs though, but I think they are trying t get those out. And she lost taste but is getting it back. They are wanting ot move her right to us soon and have her in a hospital up here or in someones home soon. So she is doing pretty good :) I am in charge of their new houses garden and stuff I guess. She is going to be bound to a wheel chair though, but it could be worse.
Hope everyone starts feeling better :)

That's good to hear Jordan. I have thought about her many times but was kind of scared to ask. Sounds like she has really come along well for falling on her head like that. I'm sure her garden will be very beautiful if you are in charge of it. It will be fun to have more space for your plantings too! :)

I have a new obsession and want seeds for it...Acalypha, or Chenille plant. Anyone know where to get them?
I saw a gorgeous plant back in October at that one greenhouse that's now closed for the season, and it was in a hanging basket. Stunningly gorgoeus is what it was! I should have bought it right then and there, and I knew it too.
Guess I'll have to get one in spring is all else fails, but seeds would be cool to try.
Glad to hear your Grandma is ok, Jordan. Poor lady.
Bet you had fun sowing your new seeds, Janan. :D

Jordan I'm glad to hear that your grandmother is doing better. I've seen Chenille plants on sale occasionally at Lowe's. I see them them growing in hanging baskets.

What a gorgeous day. It's sunny and balmy. I'm in the best mood ever. Think I might join a cycling club this summer...I was just looking into it. Anyone else love cycling as much I do? I've been slacking off but wanna get back into it heavy like I was.
Gotta run but be back later. Oh and to the people I have mailed stuff to recently...please let me know when you guys get it. :D Some boxes and packages have tracking numbers but some don't.
Chat soon...
