If they're starting to flower Tom, then yeah, I'd say it's high time you replanted them from the starter cubes! :ha:
Nice to see you around again Tom. I thought I scared you off! :waving:
So cool that you enjoyed a circus yesterday, Greg! Wow, they can be so fun...accept for the clowns!
Sorry to hear about your air conditioning breaking...and that you have to wait until tomorrow to get it fixed! Stay cool.
Nice that you spent some quiet time on the patio last night. :)
I went to the RibFest in Chatham and saw April Wine. :08: It was pretty cool and I got home super late.
Hope everyone's having a great Sunday. Chat soon...

Hi everyone. Sorry that I haven't been online yet. My brother and sister were playing a new computer game lol. Its going to be in the 100s again today and the rest of the week. Sherry I need to take a picture of the Russian Mammoth sunflower and stand by it for scale. Its almost 7 feet if not more
The Hollyberry Lady
07-10-2011, 01:27 PM
Yes, get your mom or sis to take the shot of you standing beside it. Then I can see the flower, and you! I've never seen you and have no idea what you look like. I'm sure you've seen my mug in my album. :ha:
So you're back on the video games are ya? I know how it is so not to worry about not posting. I've been pretty busy with things.
So happy to hear stuff is germinating for you now in your A-G, Cam. That's terrific news! :goteam:
Janan will be so thrilled. :D

I think I have a picture under my profile page. :08: I didn't get a chance to play since my computer crashed so it was just my brother and sister. I should see sprouts within a day or 2 hopefully. My mom and sister and cooking beef and chicken fajitas again
The Hollyberry Lady
07-10-2011, 02:18 PM
Mmmmmm...I love Fajitas! Sounds yummy.
So yeah I'll have to check out your shot later...
Hope you guys saw the video of Henry in the pet thread that I just posted. Man is he grumpy and you can hear me teasing him. He's usually totally cheerful and happy...but he's in mood today. :(
It's pretty funny how sassy he is though so check it out...

I need to check out the pet thread lol. I may have to wait until its cooler outside because its oppressive heat. I'm still sweating with the AC on lol. I'm going to turn my front yard into a butterfly haven. I'm not going to put up any border. I may just get a bag of topsoil and get some wildflower seeds one at a time to make it look natural. For some reason I just thought up the idea since the front is mostly sunny and hot and the first thing people see. I'm going to ask my mom if I can go check out some seeds at Lowe's or the Dollar store.

Hey Sherry,
I'm back again. I finally finished a video game I was playing and my vacation is over, so I won't be as distracted.
I missed your post about me getting an aero-garden. I thought about it before but decided against it. i have an "Emily's Garden" which is similar but without the light. I think I'll head down to the basement and set it up and put some of those pepper plants in it.
Be back soon.
And I'm back

Hi Gang! :waving:
So which one is the "Emily's Garden", Tom? I've never heard of it so maybe you could tell me about it...
I sowed a bunch of seeds last night, so I hope they sprout shortly. We'll see.
How's everyone's Monday going? I've got a strawberry bud on my Alpine!!! I showed a shot in the A-G thread...

Thanks Sherry. I'm 5'7 so I think the sunflower is nearly 7 feet tall. The stem looks like a tree trunk LOL. I can't wait to see the bloom on it open.

Me too! Tomorrow I'm going to start tilling the soil and planting my 2 red sage. Its going to be the beginning of my butterfly garden. I'm going to look for drought tolerant plants that attract butterflies. The main plant that I want is purple coneflower. I'm going to look for tall flowering drought tolerant plants. But I may have to wait to plant seeds until fall
The Hollyberry Lady
07-11-2011, 06:53 PM
I likely won't be able to get them out to you right away Cam, but I will definitely send you seeds for lots of coneflowers. I have tons...including 'white swan' and a purple and even yellowish variety. They come back every year and they're beautiful. They last long also.
I should send you some Pole Bean seeds too that will grow into a 7 foot vine with beautiful red flowers all season that attract not only butterflies, but hummingbirds too! You could save the seeds for next season if you wanted...or start a couple now for fun. The beans are edible and delicious too. :D
Did you see my strawberry bud, how it's showing white petals now?!!! :goteam: Talk about fast, eh?

speaking about sunflowers:
Looks like I'm going to have a flower soon. It looks like it is going to be one of those red ones judging by the stem and leaves.

Thanks Sherry that would be so awesome! For some reason I've always loved coneflower. The Pole Bean sounds so cool. I've grown beans before but never pole beans. I would love to see hummingbirds in my yard but I haven't seen any. My friend has several hummingbirds in his yard. I looked at your strawberry and I couldn't believe it. Its growing so fast. One of the pepper sprouts that I have is about to come up. I'll take pictures of it once it develops leaves.

I'm kind of annoyed right now because I just logged on and it took absolutely forever to load each page! http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo193/hollyberrylady08/2nd%20album/emo2.gif
It took me nearly 10 minutes just to get to this page to be able to post! :( Wonder what's wrong with the site and why this is happening. Hope it gets fixed soon.
Your Sunflower looks great, Tom! Is that one of my seeds? Can't wait to see the flower and thanks for sharing. ;)
So yeah Cam, Pole Beans are way cool. The one I have is called "Scarlet Runner" and it can even grow on a trellis if a fence is not available. Not only will it yield edible tasty beans all season, it also bears pretty red flowers that hummers and butterflies absolutely adore...as I mentioned. It's one amazing vine. I also have another type of Pole Bean vine, (but not available for sharing just yet) called "Painted Lady"...the flowers are bi-colored (peach & white).
I already wrote it on my list Cam, so I don't forget about sending you the pole beans, cornflowers, and more sunflowers! I got you the seeds for the Russian Mammoth too, by the way! :goteam:
Yes, Janan can't believe the strawberry plant either. I'm stunned at the fast rate it's growing. Wait until you see it today! Going to post the shot in the A-G thread now...

i wonder what happened Sherry? i'm glad you are back. the scarlet pole bean sounds so cool. thank you for wanting to send some more seeds. i definitely want to see more butterflies in my yard. i 'm going to look for milkweed also to attract monarchs. do you think it would be too late to plant seeds now?
The Hollyberry Lady
07-12-2011, 06:41 PM
Well you're asking a seed ADDICT Cam, who sows seeds all year round! :ha:
Ok seriously though...
It's not too late to enjoy watching things grow from seed now, :D but it is too late for the plants to mature and produce seed. :(
So you're not having a problem with the site, Cam? Howard was mentioning in another thread that things were taking forever to load too. It's kind of frustrating.
You're welcome for the seeds, Cam. I enjoy sharing. You grow things so well too, which is a great incentive to send you my stuff. :D
Ok, gonna post a couple more strawberry shots soon. Omg that thing is amazing...

The Hollyberry Lady
07-12-2011, 07:51 PM
YAY!!! :goteam: Looking so forward to seeing it.
I sowed some more seeds last night...but I can't remember which ones! :ha: Luckily they're labelled.
So Tom, I had asked about your "Emily's Garden"....what is it? Do the plants grow in soil, or water? Did you see my strawberry plant, Tom?! It's got a blossom!
I think Alpine types are everbearing so I should be gobbling berries on-going. :D
: )
tbaleno
07-12-2011, 09:29 PM
It is a dwc system. Basically clay pebbles that hold water. The roots of the plants grow down in to the nutrient solution.
That is so cool that you have flowers now. I think with everbearing strawberries it means that they have two harvests. I'm not sure but I think the plant needs to chill after the second harvest for a period of time before the next blossoms will show.
The Hollyberry Lady
07-12-2011, 09:47 PM
Everbear means just what the name implies...they bear forever!
If you grow them outdoors early enough in the season, you'll actually get more than 2 harvests before frost.
Yup, they take breaks in between crops, but the fruit production should be continuous as long as the fertilizer keeps coming. :ha:
Janan, those "Patio Temptation" seeds I sent you are also everbearing.
Wow Tom, that Emily Garden sounds kinda cool. Now have you grown things in it before with success...if so, what? Oh and what's a "dwc"?

Sorry that I had to get off early Sherry. I'm going to get some topsoil and peat/humus for my butterfly garden today. I haven't had any problems with the org which is strange. I guess I can still plant the coneflower seeds since they are perennials. I just want something to fill in the bare spots lol
The Hollyberry Lady
07-13-2011, 08:40 AM
Yeah that is weird Cam because Janan said she was having troubles too. It seems to be normal today though so that's good.

Good morning Sherry. Today I noticed 2 sunflower blooms. One of the Russian Mammoth and the other one is an orange/maroon color. I think its the Fashion Mix. I also created my natural butterfly garden flowerbed. I added topsoil and peat/humus to it. I planted the 2 red sages which will be the start of the flowerbed.

07-13-2011, 10:09 AM
You've got it Zac...but just be patient. :) I haven't received any personal mail at all and I'm expecting some...which tells me just how bloodey slow things are. It's crazy. All I'm getting are bills. I guess this is what they mean by 'prioritizing'. :ha: I'm reluctant to send plants yet when they just could be sitting at the post office until they're done with their so-called priorities.
Wow Cam, those are so gorgeous! I love that red one! You are too awesome, growing all these cool kinds so beautifully. I'm so impressed. ;) Good for you.
I've got lots of seeds germinating in this muggy heat...in soil. I wonder if some seeds in the A-G are actually too warm and this could be the reason for delays in sprouting. It seems weird that my soil seeds are popping in three days just like they used to in my A-G system before this intense heat showed up.
: )
Willow87
07-13-2011, 10:25 AM
I love the red one too Sherry. I was hoping the Russian Mammoth would get taller, but I'm still happy with the height. I can't wait until my butterfly garden starts coming together

Your butterfly garden is going to be gorgeous, Cam. I'll make sure of it. ;) It takes time to create a masterpiece and you can sow some of my seeds over the late winter and plant them out in early spring when they've already put on some good growth.
I have seeds for some really beautiful perennials and in fact, I have a packet called 'perennial butterfly garden' and I could give it to you! It's got a mix of some stunning perennials that attract them. You'll just love it.
So happy your sunflowers are such a success. They're really something and you should continue to grow lots more of them throughout the years.
YAY Greg!!! :woohoonaner: I can hardly wait...
I'm loading fish pepper shots for the hot pepper thread...

Wow thanks Sherry! I want my butterfly garden to have perennial wildflowers in it. I have to grow things from seed since I don't have a plant budget LOL. I've always wanted to have a flowerbed full of color, so this is my chance to that. Its on the west side of my house so it gets blazing afternoon sun.
tbaleno
07-13-2011, 01:37 PM
DWC is Deep water culture. It is where the roots actually grow in to the nutrient solution. I've grown cucumbers, peppers, tomatoes, watermelon in the emily's garden.
The Hollyberry Lady
07-13-2011, 02:07 PM
I can afford to buy new plants, but I still grow mine from seed anyway. ;) Nursery plants are inferior to your seed grown specimens because they are usually unbelievably rootbound and oftentimes gnat and pest infested. They also haven't been fed regularily like they would in your care. Usually they are ridiculously over-priced too and the selection is typical & common. You get way more unique varieties and a bigger uncommon selection when you grow from seed. The plants are healthier and they grow better than nursery plants do. :08:
Wow Tom, that thing sounds cool. So you're growing the peppers in it? It would be nice to see on-going shots of them. :)
I was gonna start another thread...a fun one. Hope you guys will participate sometime. I'm still working on it...

The Hollyberry Lady
07-14-2011, 05:18 PM
Did you directly sow the seeds outside, Cam? It's tough to do because of the heat and weather conditions but it can still be done. Better though to start them in pots then transplant later.
It's been real hot and muggy here but today the humidity has laid off a bit thankfully. I'm still waiting on personal mail and just got a bunch more bills today. I hope they get back into the swing of things soon.
So glad everything is coming up in your aero-garden! Now you just watch stuff grow. Make sure to keep the water topped up and add the nutrients every 1-2 weeks.

Good morning Sherry. I went around my garden today and my Black Pearl Pepper has a pepper on it. I was so happy to see it. I told some friends that I would send them some seeds. I wanted to also show everyone pictures of my banana cannas. Its taking them a while to grow. I'm hoping that they get several feet tall by the end of the year. I've been watering and feeding them very frequently but they don't seem to be growing fast.

Hi Gang! :waving: Well it has been exciting to say the least around here the past few weeks. Here is a very short video of just ONE of recent events (just click on it and I think it will play):
http://i1140.photobucket.com/albums/n580/JaNan16/th_20110711028.jpg (http://s1140.photobucket.com/albums/n580/JaNan16/?action=view¤t=20110711028.mp4)
Sorry I was shaking when I shot this and then the battery died. But the pasture that backs up to mine caught on fire and we were on stand by to evacuate. They had three towns fire departments and two helicopters dropping chemicals to try and control it. I've got to hand it to these fire departments, they were out here for two and a half days straight to keep a handle on it.
My neighbor was bailing hay in his hay field and a spark from the bailer caught the hay field on fire. It was very scary! I was very scared for my animals and I was running around trying to think how I could save all of them.

Thanks you guys! I was more afraid for my animal children than for myself. I was afraid they would be trapped. You think really strange things when things like this happen. I was running through the house and thinking what do I take if I have to evacuate? Should I go out and hose the roof down, what should I do? Of course this stuff always happens when hubby is half way across the country doing something for the Army for a couple of weeks and I am home by myself. Needless to say I have been stressed to the max. And I wonder why my hair is turning gray!!!!!
Thanks Sherry about my pix!
Yes, Tom be sure and get some shots for us.

That is so scary Janan. I remember a fire at my grandpa's house several years ago. A neighbor was burning leaves in his yard and the fire spread and burned down my grandpa's shed where several precious things were being stored. Its very scary how fast fires can spread. I think there was a small grass fire in Fort Worth the other week. I love my butterfly plant. It looks so happy now that its planted. I also saw some White Swan coneflower and pink Gaura that I really like. But of course I could only get one plant LOL.

Yes Cam it is. We had a really strong wind blowing right to me too. It doesn't look very big or menacing in the video, but it was. You can see how far away the trucks were before my batteries conked out. They kept spraying in front of the flames trying to stop it.
Well, I guess I need to try and wind down. Talk to you all later!

wow ! How sad. Happy that no one was harmed and all the animals are ok. That would have freaked me out. We had a fire that burned half are house down it was scary. Fires are terible. Thank Creator your all ok.

Good evening everyone. I'm in a very depressed mood after surveying the damage from heat and drought around my garden. Practically all of my bananas are on the verge of death as well as other plants. It was hard work amending the soil and keeping it well watered this summer. I watered so much last week and it doesn't seem to help any. Next year I'm going to stay away from water loving tropicals and go for drought tolerant flowers instead. Its just too much work to keep them alive. I feel like pulling them up now just to end their suffering

Oh I'm so sorry to hear that, Cam! I know you work very hard on your plants and gardens. It is a good plan though to stick to things that grow well there...and sunflowers are sure one of
them! :goteam:
Quit your whining Tom! :ha: We were over a hundred degrees today, with the humidex reading!
All next week too, is supposed to be over a hundred and humid as anything. So looking forward!

Good morning everyone. I rescued a plant today. I went to Lowe's and found a 'Pink Double Delight' coneflower on the clearance rack. It looked horrible and my mom kept telling me that I shouldn't get it, but I told her I could nurse it back to health. So the guy out in the garden center said it was $2 but when we went to the register one of the managers told me why am I paying 2 bucks for it and he told the cashier to give it to me for 50 cents lol. So I cleaned it up and re-potted it and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will make it.

It's sucks that it's raining today so I won't be able to take any shots outdoors. This weekend is the long weekend though and I'm going to many scenic places so I can take some great pictures, which I'll post when I return.
I gotta set up a new laptop I picked up a couple days ago. I wanted a 2nd computer in case this one ever breaks down. Plus my new one is smaller and lighter which is what I wanted so I can take it places. I even bought my mom a new laptop too! She had a dinky little gimmick laptop but I got her a real one. :D
So what's everyone up to today? I'm just gonna set up my new computer and read about my new camera and lenses and practice some pics. Might go out briefly to pick something up but staying home today for the most part.

I'm afraid I have none to spare right now Tom, but when my plant produces fruits (in 5 years :ha:) I can share some then!
I don't actually think they take that long to fruit and even heard they can produce when they're only a foot tall! It might be a long list though Tom because I've promised some seeds to some folks for trades...but maybe someday soon. ;)
Nope, they're not hard to start, I don't think. My seed started to germinate in the A-G within a few days. So did Janan's. I'm so looking forward to watching it grow.
So I was trying to set up my new laptop but I didn't have the bloodey key code for the internet and couldn't complete my set-up. Have to call my service provider tomorrow.

I liked your mulberry tree and wanted one but I donot have the room. So I got this
Morus ‘Dwarf Everbearing’ “Dwarf Mulberry”
Easy-to-grow, this abundant producer of sweet medium-sized fruit has performed exceptionally well in pots yielding several crops per year even during the first season. If grown in pots, they are continuous producers cycling in and out of flower and fruit when given warm temperatures and adequate light. They can be kept under 2’ with moderate pruning. In the ground, they turn into a large bush. Mulberries are known for their immune system enhancing benefits. They are also thought to improve eyesight. Mulberry plants are self-fertile, disease-and-insect resistant and welcome pot culture.
Hardy to Zone 5 and higher for outdoors.
Full sun, grows 2-6' in container, minimum temperature indoors 35°, intermittent bloomer.
Easy Grower. Hardy Garden Plant

Find you something you like and bonsai it. Lot's of good informational "How To's" on You Tube. I'm trying to bonsai my variegated bougainvillea. But if it turns out ugly nobody will see it! :ha:

My umbrella tree thats going in the pot I mentioned above has no branches right now. I cut the top part of it off and its not very big or good looking right now. After it starts showing more growth I will show some pictures :)
I am getting some Andean weeping cherry seeds form a trade and they are tropical cherries that don't go dormant! :D I am going to bonsai them to.
Once I manage to get some jade plants form trades I will probably try making them look like a small tree.

I just got home and was checking out some posts. Hope everyone is well. Guess where I'm going in a few days? Back to the zoo, but also to Marine Land in Niagara Falls!!! I wanna get some pics of the Falls for you guys too. Oh they will be so beautiful!
Busy enjoying summer activities with my mom, and learning to use my new cameras. Sorry I'm just not around these days but that will change soon enough. Autumn is coming fast and I just want to enjoy summer while I can. It was a long winter and it'll be here again too soon.

I'm going out shortly so I'm getting ready. It's too nice of a day to stay inside.
I think we're going to Marineland on Monday or Tuesday of next week. Plus we're going back to the zoo on the weekend likely because we missed a lot the first time. It's a huge park and you definitely need 2 days enjoy it. I missed the Gorillas on the first visit.
So I hope everyone enjoys the weather and has a great weekend. Summer is great...when it's not muggy.

Thanks Jordan. I'm hoping they do well too since they are drought tolerant and attract butterflies, bees and hummingbirds. I've read that they can survive on as little as 10 inches of rain. I'm going to transplant half outdoors once it cools off and keep the other half indoors just in case the outdoor ones don't make it. Its a beautiful tree in my opinion and its also called the "Orchid of the Desert" because of its blooms

We get our water form the city, so water isn't a problem. Everything just dries out so fast we can't keep up with it.
For a while it was 90-100+ degrees and the humidity was very high. So it felt like 120-130. I don't know if it is still that hot, it feels like it though.

Well, the weather here is really crazy. For a week or more we don't get any rain at all. But then for a week we get non stop storms that take up trees and stuff like that.
It rains just enough to keep the wild trees and plants watered enough to stay alive.
Then soon its going to be winter and then its 10 degrees......
Oh well, I better stop complaining before it starts getting to me :ha:
We are actually going through a different wave of weather for the last couple days. It's 77 degrees right now. So maybe it won't get extremely hot here anymore for a while at least.

Wow that's a nice set up Jordan. I'll probably have to do something similar when I bring my plants inside for winter. I have limited windows so I have to use lamps
jreidsma
08-06-2011, 08:12 PM
I have to use lamps with anything that needs bright light or higher. As my windows kind of suck :ha:
My set up isn't that expensive. Maybe $20-$30 a lamp. You just need a lamp rated for 60 watt and then get a light bulb like these
Amazon.com: Clear-Lite 106549 ECO 23-Watt (100-Watt Equivalent) Natural Full Spectrum CFL Bulb, 1 Pack, White: Home Improvement (http://www.amazon.com/Clear-Lite-106549-100-Watt-Equivalent-Spectrum/dp/B001XUR8VK)
They are cheaper in stores if you can find them. But make sure it is equivalent to 100watt and says "full spectrum" right on them.
They do get very hot though, I burnt my self once on mine. I didn't even touch the light bulb, but the metal around the light bulb gets very hot :ha:
My taller lamp is kind of awkward though. It does look nice, but it won't bend any farther back. So I can't get it to bend right. I might have to get a different soon as my Adeniums might be in the way once they get bigger.

Thats a good idea because I just have a regular floor lamp and the plants just "survive" and they look horrible until I put them outside in spring

Today I went to the store with my family and thats it. I'm wanting to sprout more flowering plants in my AG. I think you can use paypal through ebay
The Hollyberry Lady

That's good news about paypal because I don't like to use my credit card online.
Yes I am having way too much fun Cam, it's true. And spending way too much money too! :ha:
I just decided that I needed to enjoy summer somewhere else, since I can't enjoy it here. Still waiting on the apartment I want in my mom's new building. They just built a gorgeous gazebo out front by all the beautiful gardens. It's a whole other world over there than it is here. I just stay inside my apartment here and don't hang out around the grounds anymore. It's pretty bad and I can't wait to move out. :D
Has anyone been to Marineland? I hear it's awesome. I can't wait to see it. If there's time, I'd like to get some shots of the Falls too. I also want to go to Canada's Wonderland in early September. I absolutely love scary rides.

Hi,
Sounds like the other apartment will be a it better :) Have fun moving all your plants! :ha:
Ebay is actually run on paypal I think. And if you don't have a paypal account you can use your credit card through paypal so its more secure. I get quite a lot of stuff off of ebay. Anything form plants to DVD's :D ;)
If you don't mind could you post a link to your type of light bulbs? I have never seen "plant growth" lights in any store and am interested in knowing what you use.
The Hollyberry Lady
08-07-2011, 10:57 AM
I won't be moving my plants...hired movers will be!!! ;)
I'll show you a shot of the bulb I use that screws into a desk lamp. It grows one large plant super well, or about 10 seedlings. The bulb is fluorescent and it's coiled. Costs about 12 bucks.
I'll get a shot later. Gotta go...
: )
jreidsma
08-07-2011, 11:03 AM
I get the fluorescent coiled ones to. But mines only 23watt and its full spectrum. John S. on Unusualplants.net told me it would be a good choice and I have been growing all of my plants under one of them until a couple day ago when I got another to expand my collection.
What equivalent is your bulb? Mines rated to be just as good as a 100watt counterpart.
But then again I don't have any large plants by it. As I can't have many large plants in my trailer :ha:
:ha: I wouldn't be able to trust anyone other then me to do anything for my plants. I am just overly protective. Same with most of my pets to.....
While I was camping I picked up a music CD :) got me some more songs and I found some to get later on. Nice to get different songs every once and a while :)
The Hollyberry Lady
08-07-2011, 11:09 AM
I'm not sure what it's equivalent to Jordan but I'll find out. In fact, I gotta go pick up a new bulb soon and I'll grab you one as well. :D
Yes, I'm the same about my plants and wouldn't want anyone looking after them other than me. My mom is the only one I'd leave Henry with. He absolutely adores her. My mom could look after my plants too I suppose, but she's the only one I'd trust.
Ok gang, gotta go for real...

Arrg. I just had a shock. I went out to pick the last of the peaches off my tree. On the way to the tree I saw what looked like entrails or something. It was about 3 feet long and had some kind of bulbous mass at the end. There was also something just smaller than a soda can that was kind of tube like with a bulge in the middle. I look at it for a while trying to figure what it was. Maybe an umbilical cord for an animal or something? Anyway, I get my peaches and on the way back I see a cats head which looks like maybe it was torn from the body. It looks like this cat may have lost his last fight. I dialed the police but then thought probably people would be looking for a missing cat at a shelter. Its just a little too much work for me to go calling shelters to report a dead cat.

Hello Gang!!! :waving:
Well, we went to Niagara Falls on Friday but it was too short of a day and we had no time for Marineland, which closes at 6 pm. To make a long story short, I made a reservation for a three night stay in the Falls at a really nice hotel called Sheraton at the Falls. We're staying this coming Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday night. I'll be home Friday afternoon. The pets are coming with us!
Being there three days will be so fun. There's a jacuzzi pool right in our room and an outdoor swimming pool. Looking so forward to it.
Friday's trip to Niagara was cool but there wasn't a lot of time. Marineland closes at 6pm so we had no time to go because I couldn't pull myself away from the falls. We're gonna go on Thursday, our last full day there. it's gonna be so fun and there's cool rides there also. I love scary rides.
We're gonna eat in a revolving restaurant that overlooks the Falls! On Friday we had lunch at a place that had an outdoor patio built way up high above the falls and I got some great shots. The food was awesome too.
So if you don't hear from me for a few days, you'll know where I am...having a blast. :goteam: I'll post shots at every opportunity.

Banana plants love me :ha: I have never had a fern though. So I don't have a comment on them ;)
Just had a random migraine today :( maybe I won't have another tomorrow....
Hope everyone has a nice day :)

I'm sorry to hear about your migraine. I hope you feel better soon. I've killed every fern that I've had and they make a mess inside when they constantly lose leaves. I vowed never to grow them again lol

Oh, doesn't sound like they are the cleanest thing around ;)
I don't think my cats would need fern leaves on they new diet :ha:
I do feel quite a bit better today. Still a bit dizzy and a small headache. Thanks for caring though :)
Talk to everyone later, and have a nice day :)

You're welcome Jordan. I hope you have a wonderful day too. My problem with ferns has always been the lack of humidity in my house during winter.

I always keep the humidity about 50% in the winter. And then during the summer and spring it stays about 50% to 55%.
Then I just mist the plants every once and a while. Even the cacti seem to like a misting every couple weeks.
I got my linux running. Then realized it didn't have any graphical system to it at all.... :( so I had to restarts again because I set up a non-graphic system :ha:

I bought a little humidifier a few years ago, but I had so many plants crowded in my dining room and I couldn't get to it. Eventually when I lost a few plants I was able to make a path to it and turned it on. The plants seemed to love it and I misted them a few times a day. Hopefully this year I will have a better plan when I bring them indoors. I unfortunately have more big containers.

I am limited to my 8' X 8' room and I can't have my plants whree my cats can get to them. So I don't have to worry about that ;) I can have some plants in the kitchen but there's not a whole lot of light in there.
