Oh and Trina...

I got a bit busy today but will be sure to get some seeds mailed off to you tomorrow....Tuesday at the very latest. I'm getting some peppers seeds ready for Amber
too. ;)

Hope everyone sleeps well. Think I'm gonna sign off now...it's late.

I'm chewing on a dried chocolate mint leaf and wow, it it ever an intense chocolate mint flavor...moreso than when it's fresh. It freshens your breath and leaves a pleasant aftertaste.

Oh I am really going to love this stuff. I have it in my south window so it can grow fast and I can snip tons of branches over and over again. It'll just keep growing back again and again. I wonder if the seeds are true.

Anyway, g'night. Chat again soon...

Sherry have you had any experience growing bee balm? I had a few plants a couple of years ago but they ended up dying eventually

The Hollyberry Lady
05-09-2011, 12:22 AM
I'm still up! :ha:

When you refer to bee balm Cam, do you mean lemon balm? Here, some people call lemon balm, 'bee balm'.

: )

Willow87

Its the Monarda bee blam

The Hollyberry Lady
05-09-2011, 12:29 AM
I think you're tired Cam...you called it Blam! :ha: Gave me a little chuckle. ;)

Nope, I've never grown it, but would like to see a picture of it sometime. It sounds cool. What does it smell like?

: )

Willow87
05-09-2011, 12:32 AM
I do that alot lol. I will send a link from Davesgarden. It does smell like some type of mint, I actually like its scent. I think its used in tea also but the flowers are gorgeous. It can become invasive though. I should have collected the seedheads from my mom's friend. She has several plants in her garden and they are taking over.

Wow, very cool Cam. The flowers sure are beautiful. Herb flowers can be so pretty.

Maybe next time you'll remember to save some seeds for us. ;) I enjoy collecting seeds from plants and do it even with my indoor plants too. I rarely have to re-purchase the same seeds twice because I always collect more seeds from my growings. It's easy and fun...and
cheap. :ha:

So yeah, I was gonna go to bed but that chocolate mint was so good, I got excited about the possibilities of what I could use it in. Apparently it's suggested to serve the chocolate and orange mint together so I thought of making a tea with them both together! Mmmmmmm.

Good morning Sherry. I'm definitely going to save some seeds, but my mom's friend told me she wanted me to get rid of all of her bee balm so I can have as many as I want which is well over 20 plants. The bee balm is choking out her other plants and some of the bee balm is a foot tall or more.

The Hollyberry Lady

Hey Gang! :waving:

How's everyone on this wonderful Monday?! :ha:

Why am I in such a good mood, you ask?...

Ok check out the thread called "What new seeds did you get" and you'll see the new ones I got today. ;) I'm gonna sow some shortly. :goteam:

Of course I'll save seeds so I can share with you guys later...

Wow Sherry, you finally got your Filius Blue pepper. I'm so happy for you. Those are pretty peppers:woohoonaner:

The Hollyberry Lady
05-09-2011, 04:44 PM
I'm so thrilled about them, Cam. Thanks. ;)

See my two Black Pearl plants today?

They're getting really black in my south window! :D

: )

Willow87
05-09-2011, 04:48 PM
That's so pretty Sherry! Mine are starting to grow a little. Did you see my dragon fruit cuttings in the cacti and succulent thread? And my Thanksgiving cactus fruit?

The Hollyberry Lady
05-09-2011, 05:15 PM
Thanks Cam. ;) I can't believe how dark the leaves are getting now. That is one awesome pepper plant...I mean two. :ha: Yours will be stunning outside. Mine is setting buds now so I hope to see shiny black round fruits soon. :D

I really am thrilled to have that Filius Blue type. I don't think it's a small plant but I love it so much, I don't care. I can also make large pepper plants be dwarf-like in smaller pots...as Bob relentlessly teases me about, calling me the 'Bonsai Queen'! :ha:

I loved your shots in the succulent thread, Cam. Too cool! :08: I bet you're excited now. Looking forward to more shots as things develop.

I'm thinking how striking one of those Black Pearl and White Habanero plants would be together! I'm growing the white habanero this season too, along with the Filius Blue. Black and white would be cool together though.

I don't have room in my A-G for sprouting seeds now but I've been doing it the old-fashioned way for awhile and it works well for me also. I can't wait to see what they're both like. Yippppeeeee. I love new pepper varieties.

: )

Willow87
05-09-2011, 05:21 PM
That would be a stunning combo. How large does the Filius Blue get? I may have to turn my pepper plants into bonsai when I bring them in during winter. Maybe I will just save the seeds and start all over to save on room. I dont know when to pick my Thanksgiving cactus fruit. Someone told me its edible but I want to grow the seeds. I have also read that even if it produces seeds, the seeds can come out sterile in some varieties. I hope that isnt the case with mine. Hopefully I will have a lot of peach color TC. I have no choice but to do it he old fashion way. I buy some Miracle Grow (though it is pretty crappy stuff) and I mix it with a bag of peat/humus. That's what I have been using as potting soil since the peat/humus is only $1.94 a bag

The Hollyberry Lady
05-09-2011, 05:32 PM
If your stuff grows well and you like it, that's what counts. ;)

Well the Black Pearl is a huge plant, yet I have two in a small pot that are both setting buds! I sometimes just grow pepper plants in small pots so they'll fruit quickly and I can collect some seeds for future growings or trades.

I would suggest always saving seeds from your stuff Cam, and then you'll never be left without, in case something happens. Starting fresh pepper plants is always best because they're more vigorous when they're young, with higher yields than older plants.

Ok check out this site about the Filius Blue type I just got...

Here's a link with some information about it...

Not sure about your Thanksgiving cactus fruit Cam...no experience with it. Maybe JaNan knows...if she ever returns to us.

I've got most of your seeds ready, Trina. I'll send them off tomorrow for sure.

: )

Willow87
05-09-2011, 05:54 PM
I'm looking forward to seeing peppers on my plants. I will definitely save seeds from any peppers I do get and also the tomatoes. I want to keep growing them year after year, and see the diversity of each generation.
Wow the fruit on the Filius Blue get milder when they ripen? I'm so curious about the taste of ornamental peppers. I bought some Bell pepper jelly yesterday. I've had jalapeno jelly before and liked it. I like the mix between sweet and spicy. The rest of my family was grossed out but I told them its not as bad as they think.
I wonder where Janan could be? I guess she has been busy.

The Hollyberry Lady
05-09-2011, 06:07 PM
Ornamental peppers can sometimes still be edible but lacking in flavor like the culinary types. I like ornamental peppers mostly just for looking at, not for eating. Some I grow though, are both ornamental and tasty...like Aurora and Little Blue.

Yes, I'm worried about JaNan and wondering where she is. I even emailed her but no reply just yet. Hope she's ok.

Bell pepper jelly eh? What were you eating it with?

I was going to get a snack and sow those seeds but I'll be back soon...

: )

The Hollyberry Lady
05-09-2011, 06:11 PM
Oh and by the way...

I've scheduled a pick-up for tomorrow with UPS to return my camera. The shipping is all prepaid...I just hand it to the guy at the door and can track the package online.

They then contact me by email to tell me when I'll receive the giftcard to go re-buy my new camera and that'll be that. I bet I'll only be without one for a couple weeks.

: )

Willow87
05-09-2011, 06:13 PM
I just want to try them just to see how spicy they are lol. But i will take the seeds out first. Hopefully she will be online soon to let us know what happened. She could just be really busy. I ate some biscuits yesterday with the bell pepper jelly and today I ate some yeast rolls. It was really good. I like how its a green color too lol

The Hollyberry Lady
05-09-2011, 06:32 PM
Yeah she could just be busy....or she's lurking and being a total snob! :ha:

I still haven't sown the seeds yet, or had a snack...I got distracted with pictures of some of the white pepper types I got today. They're all just so cool. Hope the seeds come up faster than quick. It's warming up here so they likely will.

I wanted that Filius Blue one because it's the next best thing to that one my grandmother grew when I was a kid, that went through a stage of true blue. Filius fruits can have a hint of that true blue shade to them, so I've read...and the pictures have confirmed. Can't wait to see for myself.

Mmmmmm, I'd like red sweet pepper jelly! Oh boy that would be good too, Cam. :D

: )

Willow87
05-09-2011, 06:47 PM
Maybe she will post soon lol. You should get yourself a snack. I put some peanut butter on Ritz crackers for my little snack lol. I cant wait to see your Filius Blue peppers.

The Hollyberry Lady
05-09-2011, 07:29 PM
Mmmmm...I love peanut butter. ;) I had the usual...strawberry yogurt with banana pieces in it.

Ok so I've got 7 Filius Blue seeds sown now, as well as 7 White Habanero. I can't wait to see the fruits on both of them. :08:

I gotta get my camera packaged up tonight late because they'll come tomorrow between 8am and 6pm to get it. I'm already going through separation anxiety. :ha:

At least I'll get nice new camera out of the deal, when they're likely isn't even anything wrong with this one...just something fell in the slot and I can't get it out. I wonder if I could just go buy the camera right away and get reimbursed with cash back on the giftcard. If that's the case, I could get it now. I'll call tomorrow morning and ask.

So I gotta do some research and find out how big that white habanero will get...

: )

Willow87
05-09-2011, 07:34 PM
I love peanut butter too. I melt it sometimes and pour some on my ice cream lol. I love strawberry yogurt, Its been a while since I've had any. I also ate some cashews. I'm excited for you lol. You are having separation anxiety from your camera? I know you have plenty of pretty things that you want to take pics of. Maybe you should find out about the cash reimbursement

The Hollyberry Lady
05-09-2011, 08:09 PM
Hi Greg...how are you tonight? :waving:

Yeah, saparation anxiety from my camera...and my mom. Gosh I miss her bad. Feels weird not being able to go down the hall and see her anymore. :(

I like Reese's peanut butter cups, Cam.

Now I want some! :ha:

I was just watching some people on youtube eat whole white habaneros. Apparently they're great if you rather enjoy the delightful and pleasant feeling of having the back of your head blown off! :ha:

: )

Willow87

When do you get to move to the apartment building that she lives in? I keep forgetting. I LOVE Reese's Peanut buttercups, that's my favorite type of candy lol. I had one Reese's bar candy before and it was pretty good. Did smoke come out of their mouths or flames LOL

The Hollyberry Lady
05-09-2011, 08:20 PM
No, but some of them were sweating pretty bad, and were really red in the face. I think they're nuts to eat them raw.

No exact date just yet, but by the Fall at the latest, I'll be outta here. :D Hopefully sooner.

I guess I'm a sucker for anything with peanutbutter really. It's just too yummy. I've even been known to eat it off a spoon, for some quick protein.

: )

Willow87
05-09-2011, 08:25 PM
LOL they are crazy for eating those raw. I bet they had a major stomachache afterwards LOL. I hope you can move sooner, that would be so nice. I do that alot, eating peanut butter from the spoon. I like to heat it up too because it brings out the flavor. I remember eating the celery, raisins, and peanut butter in elementary school. We called it Ants on a log LOL.

The Hollyberry Lady
05-09-2011, 08:30 PM
Don't worry...I'll be out of this criminal infested dump just as quickly as I can! ;)

The Hollyberry Lady

Well my camera is officially gone!!!

UPS just came to pick it up a few minutes ago! :(

Not to worry, I'll have a new one before the end of the day! :ha:

I've changed my mind and can't live without one for 2 weeks! I called wal-mart and they have a Kodak camera for 65 bucks, so this could be my 2nd camera for when the other one isn't available. Then I will be able to be patient and not care when the giftcard arrives.

My mom thinks it's a waste of money though and says it'll just sit un-used once I get my other one back. She's right, but I still want one now! :ha: It's only been gone a half hour and I'm already going into a panic!

Hope everyone has a great Tuesday.

Oh and Trina, I got all your seeds packaged up and I will mail them off today when I go out. ;)

Hi Gang! Hubby surprised me with a mini vacation for Mother's Day, but we are back now. It was a no phone, no laptop, get away from everything trip. Sorry to have worried anyone! I have a lot of catching up to do.

Lots of changes in 4 days with the AeroGarden. Need to take some new shots this morning.

Sherry, I am not surprised you are already having camera withdrawals! I would be lost without mine - I actually have 5 working digitals because I try to upgrade every couple of years. Just get one with a good macro feature so you can take good close ups of your plants!

All this peanut butter talk, I think I will have some peanut butter toast for breakfast this morning!

I'll be back here a little later. Need to take some pictures!

The Hollyberry Lady

Thanks for emailing me last night and letting me know you were ok, JaNan. Hope you guys had fun.

I gotta go for a bit but be back later. Looking forward to seeing all your shots JaNan. Hope you'll see the ones I posted while you were away.

Sherry - Did you ever think about getting a disposable camera to tide you over?

The Hollyberry Lady
05-10-2011, 11:05 AM
Too late John...I just got back from Wal-mart where I purchased a Kodak digital camera. :ha:

So much for 65 bucks though...I ended up putting out a bill on a much nicer one that has even more megapixels than my Sony!

My Sony has 12.1 MP's but this one has 14!!! Here's my very first test shot...

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo193/hollyberrylady08/3rd%20album/100_0001.jpg

Kind of blurry but not bad for a first, eh? I'll get better at it, as I use it more. I just feel so much better having a replacement. It was a very good idea you had though John, and I hadn't considered it. Someone like me who takes a lot of pictures could use a 2nd camera really, so I don't feel like it's a waste of money at all.

What do you guys think of the shot? I know I need practice with this one but not bad, eh?

I bet JaNan's glad she won't have to go through 'Hollyberry picture withdrawal'!!! :ha:

Hey thanks, you guys! :D

It's not my Sony, but it'll do for a decent 2nd camera. It has a three year warranty too. I'm just really glad that I don't have to be without a camera. I have a decent webcam but it's built into my laptop, that weighs 30 pounds!

Could you just see me going around my apartment carrying a big-ass laptop to snap pictures?! :ha:

There's things I still gotta learn about though, to get my shots just right. I tried to do some rose close-ups today but they all came out blurry and I gave up out of frustration. I did try a few different settings but none of them were right. I'm just impatient and want them to be perfect instantly.

I'm still reading the instruction booklet to figure stuff out...

The Hollyberry Lady

I agree and think the shots are just fantastic with this new camera. I'm pretty impressed with it. The pics are very bright and clear.

Yes, I love those water droplets on the plants too. I know they look pretty cool, so that's why I like to take shots of them. So glad you like them too.

Honestly though, that plant would look good if the pictures were taken by the cheapest most crapiest camera in the world! :ha: Just look at it! Boy that aero-garden grows terrific peppers. Can't wait to see yours, JaNan. I bet you're excited and looking forward to those bright purple fruits.

Did you see my post in this thread from yesterday? Check out what I just got...

They are so cool looking, and they're getting whiter as they grow. I'll for sure save seeds. I'm totally thrilled to have them.

Now I've got a pot of three different kinds of hot peppers...just what I love most. It looks way too cool to see a pot of all these different kinds of cool fruits. It'll be quite a show when they all ripen.

Gosh I'm addicted to peppers. I can't get enough of them. I'm dying to see those Filius Blue plants in person. Pictures can be altogether different than what you end up with, but we'll see. I have a feeling though that I'm going to love them. :08:

Well, it didn't totally ruin my computer but I have to buy a new keyboard for it. I took it apart and cleaned it real good, but there are certain keys that it won't recognize and it happens to be keys that I use for my passwords preventing me from logging in to anything. Lucky for me the computer was sealed well, and it didn't get into the motherboard.

It was just a weird day. I had some issues at my doctors office and that was so stressful. Then after that the day was just so strange. People were acting incredibly unusual today, I was thinking to myself, is there a full moon outside LOL. I went to Lowes afterwards to look at some plants and this guy just ruined my whole experience. Let's just say he was in a hurry to use the restroom outside in the garden center. I just couldnt believe someone would just do that

It's Friday The 13th!!!

Hope everyone has a great day, despite supersticious beliefs! :ha: I might watch some of my Friday the 13th boxset tonight...love the old horror movies.

So it's an early morning for me, but I went to bed early for a change after hanging out with one of my girlfriends for a bit last evening.

Lots of stuff to do today, and I think it's going to be nice and warm out. What's everyone's plans for the weekend?

Oh and JaNan...nope, I haven't enjoyed and fresh chocolate mint tea just yet, but I've been chewing on the freshly dried leaves and oh my gawd!

They are totally minty and chocolatey...like a peppermint patty! :goteam:

They also leave a great aftertaste in your mouth...like a minty tea flavor. I just love it. My plant really isn't big enough yet to harvest a lot from, but it's growing quickly and I keep topping the branches and taking the new shoots to dry. I gave my girlfriend a piece to try last night and she was amazed.

Of course she asked me to make her a plant from mine...which I will do soon. :ha: In no time I'll have more cuttings than I know what to do with!

Hope everyone's having a great morning. I just got back from the grocery store a little while ago. It's just gorgeous out!

Spring has finally sprung! :woohoonaner:

Hi Sherry and everyone. I wanted to post pictures of the Micro Tom tomato and the French Vanilla Marigold. I also have my first pup on my Sumatrana X hybrid.

I'm excited because I've finally got some Aurora seedlings. It's my most favorite hot pepper of all...

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo193/hollyberrylady08/3rd%20album/100_0228.jpg

The leaves will get more purple with more sunlight. I've got seven seedlings and today I'm going to replant them evenly around in the same pot, so they have equal space between them. How gorgeous it will be to have a pot stuffed with them. I've done it before and they're stunning.

Wait until you guys see! :goteam:

Thanks, JaNan. I'm sure tickled to have them up and growing. I'm going to do a pot of the Filius Blue the same way...with several of them in one pot. I can only imagine how unbelievably cool they'll look. :08:

Nice to see you've joined us JaNan...finally! How's your laptop now that you replaced the keyboard?

Did you guys see what I'll be eating soon?

They'll ripen red when they're finished growing longer and they're super sweet. They're called "Jimmy Nardello" and they're a sweet Italian frying pepper. ;)

I only had two seeds left for it, and this plant is the result of one of those seeds. Soon I'll have tons more! :D

You mean the keyboard, JaNan...it's coming on Monday? That's good. Sorry to hear you had an accident though :(

Thanks, about the tomatoes, Cam. ;) I really just can't wait to eat 'em! I'm gonna make a sauce to pour over pasta, with some of my fresh basil. Omg it will be good!

If you guys were my neighbors, I'd have no tomatoes left to make sauce! :ha:

So I will be saving lots of seeds from those "Table" tomatoes, for those interested. I believe Tom definitely said he was. I'll send some along the next time I mail out to you guys. For now, I'm taking a break from seed packing! :08:

I think I've just had it with packing, period. It's boring and no fun...and depressing. Maybe I'm just being negative though. :) I can't move without packing so it must be done. :0519:

I think I'm going to make spareribs for dinner, in my indoor bar-b-que pit...I'm still deciding though. My girlfriend's coming for dinner or I wouldn't fuss so much. She loves ribs though and I was going to do them with a smokey/hickory sauce. :chefnaner:

Willow87

You could open up your own business with the number of seeds you packed LOL. I went out today and saw that I have a 4th pup on my Orinoco corm. I tilled alot of soil around it and hopefully next week I'll mix in some composted manure. The soil in that area is really good, its like a silty clay with a little sand mixed in. I have just plain clay in the rest of my yard. I hope they grow faster once I add some manure. There were plenty of earthworms in the soil which a good sign. I love ribs Sherry, I bake mine in the oven. I wish I had an outdoor grill, because I love BBQ

Jananas Bananas
05-13-2011, 01:25 PM
Sounds yummy Sherry!! We are having a barbeque tomorrow! I'll try to remember to take some pictures.

It is depressing to pack. Just think how much fun it will be to unpack in your new place though!!! :woohoonaner:

Yeah, I spilled it on myself and jerked which is why I got it on my computer. It was a mess that's for sure.

Yes, I love tomatoes! They are some of my favorites! Table is not one of the varieties that I have, so I would definitely like a few. I'll take some pictures of mine tonight so you can see mine!

All the work you put into your seeds packing, you SHOULD be taking a break from that. That's a full time job! :ha:

This is an INDOOR bar-b-que pit and it does chicken, steak, and ribs amazingly, Cam. I like them baked in the oven though too. I just thought I'd do them special for company.

Yeah, I'll for sure send ya some of the "Table" tomatoes, JaNan. They're kinda special and unique...and just incredible for small pots. Oh I'm going to gobble every one of them...either in sauce or whole.

Definitely need a break from seed packing for now. :ha: Not for long though, because I'll want to share my pepper seeds. Like this type from Blake09...

I think it was a type that got crossed with Black Pearl. I'm really enjoying them especially and like the way they're stocky and fat, plus they dangle down like that. I have a feeling they're going to be super hot!

So many different kinds with different colored blossoms and fruits. I enjoy all the neat shapes of some of them.

I think you know what my favorites are right now though...

Yeah, Cameron I had no idea I sent her so many different peppers - since I only had 5 I think it was then. Now, thanks to her I have several more varieties! My favorites are the sweet peppers though I can occasionally eat a stuffed Jalapeņo! :ha: Don't call it just brown, it's CHOCOLATE! Doesn't that sound better? :ha:

I ran by HD and Lowe's a while ago and bought some plants. Imagine that!

That Little Blue really has a blue sheen to the leaves when you take pictures of it. I wish I could get one started. If I can get it started and to fruiting stage I won't worry so much as I will have seeds. Sherry has me trained now to save seeds of everything!

Cam don't you just LOVE that little MicroTom? I just LOVE mine!

That fuzzy white succulent is really neat looking!!!!

At Lowe's I bought a couple new succulents and a Southern Magnolia tree.

I have a fuzzy succulent called Kalanchoe tomentosa common name is Panda Bear Plant (and many others).

Hi Sherry and everyone. I finally dug up some bee balm (bergamot) from my friends yard. A few plants are wilting but most are still standing and I dont think they noticed to move. I have them planted in a moist area of my yard which they like, but they are invasive. Which that part of my yard I dont mind them being invasive at all. I hope they form flowers this year because they are a gorgeous red.

Thanks Janan. I dont know if its the dwarf type of the tall type. I hope it's the tall type. I got the corm from Dean. Its already developing its second leaf. I bought some composted manure, mulch and some tomato fertilizer for it, but I'm waiting until it gets bigger before I do feed it. Sherry I had an ok weekend. My computer crashed so I'm using my sisters. I may not be online much, but hopefully I will be able to get it fixed. I got some sedum cutttings and some ice plant cuttings today from my friend. I also got a hoya cutting. The ice plant gets purple daisy like flowers.

I have to keep an eye on the weather tomorrow because we may see tornadoes, hopefully there wont be any. I couldnt believe the tornado damage in Missouri I think 116 people died maybe more. Well I checked on my seedlings and every pepper plant has come up and so have the Jerusalem cherries. The biggest are the banana peppers which have 4 leaves on them. I had them in a shady area to protect them from the heavy rain so after tomorrow I'll move them back in the sun. Hopefully I will be planting them soon.

Zac, you don't need to have anything at all...I'll still share some of my seeds with you

You're a great garden pal and I have not forgotten how sweet and kind you were, when my plants got stolen. Sending me that gorgeous orinoco plant like you did and the succulent cuttings. You didn't have to do that but you did, and it was very special to me.

I'd sure like it if you picked out at least 10 selections of my seeds and I'll send them along shortly.

Yeah, when you sent me that tri-colored succulent before, you sent the smallest cuttings but I still got them to root and grow. If you do come across anymore small pieces, I'd sure appreciate having them. Once I get it going really well, I'll send some pieces back your way. The Hollyberry Lady
05-24-2011, 05:27 PM
Yup, and I'll send ya some cuttings. ;) It's not good in the garden and should be grown in pots anyway because it's super invasive and it'll take over. You'll love the smell and taste.

I can send ya some seeds instead of the banana pup, so you can store them and sow them when you want to.

: )

ShearMe
05-24-2011, 06:36 PM
Well, if the pup stays small, I have a pretty nice sized pot that needs a plant to call it home. Unfortunately, based on the size of other bananas from the place I bought it I will assume it will not stay small in Texas. I'd love to practice sowing banana seeds, even if I have to give it away once grown. :)

I love mints. My mother suggested putting some in a flower bed to fill it up - I assured her that would be a very bad idea! Instead I put some cannas cam gave me and my milkweed there.

Do you know how deep a banana can be buried? I'm planning on making a raised bed with those stones around my Ice Cream and don't want to dig it up if I don't have to.

Hi Sherry and everyone. Zac I hope you didnt get any damage from the storms last night. Me and my family had to evacuate our home and we drove to Lowes. Wow, how frightening, Cam!

So glad you're ok. I bet you were freaked out though. I can't imagine having to evacuate my home! :(

Are your plants and gardens alright?

Nope Zac, there's nothing small about that plant you sent me...nor the pups either. :ha:

It was frightening Sherry, I'm just glad its over. I live in a mobile home so its not the safest place to be during a tornado lol. Everything in my garden is alright, though a couple of the blackberry lily seedlings are bent. I think they should recover. My bee balm is about to bloom also. I can wait to see the flowers on them.

I'm just glad that you and your family are ok, Cam. :)

Looking forward to seeing your shots soon. I think my girlfriend is giving me my camera back today, as I lent it to her for the long weekend. I miss it.

So what's your plans today? It's sunny but cool here. I might be going to my mom's place later.

Thanks Sherry. I'll take some once it dries up more. I have a grasshopper problem, they ate one of my french vanilla marigolds which really made me mad. They are eating up my sunflowers and my other garden plants. I sprayed some insecticide on a few my ornamental plants but I will have to do it again since the rain probably washed it off.

The Hollyberry Lady

Wow, it sounds like those grasshoppers are everywhere! They eat the leaves and make big holes in them, don't they? Ugh!

Wow, everything is sure looking great for you, Cam! Your seedlings are coming along. :D

I'm just about to re-pot some succulents...

Willow87
05-25-2011, 12:48 PM
Wow well at least you arent having a drought. I think the storms here dropped 2 inches or more of rain here. I really do hate grasshoppers, and these are the baby ones, I havent seen any mature ones in my yard. More planting today ;-)

ShearMe
05-25-2011, 03:51 PM
Hi Sherry and everyone. Zac I hope you didnt get any damage from the storms last night. Me and my family had to evacuate our home and we drove to Lowes. What was scary was the man saying tornado through the tornado sirens. We took our dogs and they arent use to people so they were barking the whole time. I was just relieved when it was over. Luckily nothing was damaged around here

We didn't budge from our bungalow, the storm went south of us. Now I wont have to water plants for a few days. :ha:

Willow87
05-25-2011, 04:22 PM
Im glad that you and your family are ok. If I wasnt so scared I would have taken pics of the cool thunderstorm clouds. Im glad that I wont have to water for awhile too. I think the rain made the mosquitoes worse though. Once it dries up more, I need to fertilize my banana plants to see if that will speed up their growth

The Hollyberry Lady
05-25-2011, 04:39 PM
Hi, gang! :waving:

Glad you're ok too, Zac. ;) So do you guys know how much rain actually fell? Too bad you couldn't have taken some shots, but picture-taking would have been the last thing on my mind too. :ha:

So I got a few succulents re-potted and I was debating on whether to venture out into the rain, and go pick up a few things from the grocery store. It's so yucky out there. :(

I suppose it could be worse...snow! Oh thank goodness we're all done with that stuff.

: )

Willow87
05-25-2011, 04:59 PM
I think I got 3inches of rain here. Im just glad that its over with, its hot and windy here. So what succulents did you re-pot? I went ahead and planted the potted passion vine in the ground. I wont have room for it inside. Its root hardy in my zone anyways.

The Hollyberry Lady
05-25-2011, 05:07 PM
That white fuzzy one and JaNan's "blue tequila" agave. ;)

Cool you're growing passiflora vines this season. They're so easy and they practically grow themselves. Hope you get lots of fruits, Cam. :D

Not sure about the grocery store. I just like going every couple days to pick up fresh veggies. I need to make some greek salad...something I eat a lot of. I like using fresh oregano & chives in it. Yummy.

My girlfriend is supposed to stop over with my camera tonight or tomorrow morning, so I'm looking forward to getting it back. Still no giftcard in the mail yet to replace my Sony but they said 4-6 weeks and it's only been a little over a week now.

: )

Willow87
05-25-2011, 05:17 PM
I love agaves, there was a local person who was giving some away for free. They were huge but you had to dig them up yourself. I think one was nearly 4 or 5 feet tall. Can you survive a few more weeks without your camera? I'm going to start bringing mine with me when I go out. I've seen some beautiful sights lately but I didnt have my camera

The Hollyberry Lady
05-25-2011, 05:29 PM
No I couldn't survive weeks without my camera...that's why I bought a new one! I just lent it out to my girlfriend for this past long weekend. I like my new one better in some ways. It has 14 megapixels and my sony only has 12.1.

Wonder where JaNan has disappeared to...again. ;) She's always in that invisable mode so I never know if she's on. Pretty sneaky! :ha:

So I'm waiting on a new birdbath to arrive that I ordered for my little Henry. Boy is he spoiled. It's a glass bowl that sits on a wrought-iron 2 foot tall stand. At least I got it for half price though. It should be here tomorrow and I'll be sure to get a shot of it when it arrives in person, but here it is...

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo193/hollyberrylady08/3rd%20album/Henrysnewbirdbath.jpg

It's hand-painted glass and the torquoise part of the bowl is actually transparent. I just hope that you-know-who likes it. I thought he might, since it's blue like him. He likes blues things.

: )

Willow87

I wonder where Janan is too lol. That bird bath is so pretty! I think I would even like to take a bath in it lol. Henry is definitely spoiled LOL.

The Hollyberry Lady
05-25-2011, 05:42 PM
She tells me she misses me on here, but then she's never around! Alright JaNan, we know you're off somewhere buying more plants to make us jealous, and that's why you're absent! :ha:

Oh yeah, he's spoiled alright, Cam. He's excited too, because I keep telling him that a present is coming for him. He knows when I have surprises for him and when something fun is in store. He's been happily chirping all day long! I keep telling him "you're getting a new bath" but totally enthusiastically and excitedly. He can barely contain himself and he starts pacing back and forth on the top of his cage. I can't wait to introduce it to him.

The stand for the bath, even folds up! It's been weather-proofed too and they claim the paint will not wear off and the glass is unbreakable! I'm going to set it up beside his cage until he gets used to it. At first I bet he'll be very suspicious and skeptical, like he usually is with new things for awhile. I'm going to set up my water pump in the center of the bath too because he likes to put his head under a stream of water, and used to try to bathe in my indoor fountain...that's how I realized it.

: )

Willow87
05-25-2011, 05:52 PM
I hope she responds soon. The plants she bought last week were so beautiful. I was jealous lol. That's amazing that the glass is unbreakable, I know Henry will love it.

The Hollyberry Lady

I wouldn't want to put the unbreakable glass promise to the test! :ha:

I hope JaNan replies soon too. :2738:

I enjoy chatting with you and Janan. Tom hasnt be posting for a while. I hope he is ok. I could imagine Henry staring at a shattered bird bath with his little beak open in shock lol. I had a nest of red birds in the cedar trees by my house but I only see one of the adults every now and then. My mom told me if you blow a kiss to a red bird its suppose to be good luck:08: I wonder why its taking my Orinoco pups so long to take off. I got the corm in April and the pups are still small. I'm waiting to fertilize it since it rained yesterday. Maybe it will take off soon, it really needs to get going before the summer heat gets here. I'm trying to be patient but I dont want it to perish in summer lol

I bet Trina is busy unpacking, I haven't seen her on here much.

Have a couple of pictures to post here in a little bit, but I just want to relax for a few minutes first.

Sherry, I love Henry's new bird bath!!!! Turquoise is my favorite color.

Cam I'm glad you guys are all right. We have had such severe weather I watch it a lot. We still need rain here. I think we hit 99 today.

Hi Sherry. I got some variegated sedum cuttings today from a friend. They are only a couple of pieces but its neat that the leaves are variegated. I may get some pachysandra groundcover plants from her too. I have to go over there tomorrow. How are you?

The Hollyberry Lady
05-27-2011, 06:06 PM
I'm ok, just been a bit busy.

Oh I can't wait to see some pictures of your stuff, Cam. :goteam:

How are you and how's the weather?

Thanks for the comments on my first hot pepper plant I ever grew, you guys! ;)

Don't worry, I'll take some pics soon...this weekend I promise. Everything is thriving and I've been gobbling fresh tomatoes off my "Table" plant...plus I made a pasta sauce. Got lots of seeds saved, to share. ;)

Boy I miss outdoor gardening and would normally be doing tons of it by now. Packing and moving is my priority now though...and things have become too ugly here where I live, to continue to do anymore gardening anyway. My shrubs are still cool but I'm removing everything else and have already started. No daffies, tulips, or hyacinths bloomed here this spring unfortunately. :(

Soon I'll be somewhere better and somewhere I can garden and not have to worry about my stuff falling victim to a thief. It's funny though, all this time I thought it was strangers taking my potted plants but come to find out it was my own "neighbor"!!! The police told me too, that it's usually someone with the most access. Boy were they right!

So what do people do on Memorial Day?

We have Remembrance Day where we remember the people who died at war...is that the same thing as your Memorial Day?

: )

tbaleno
05-27-2011, 06:30 PM
Yes, it's pretty much the same thing.

Glad you know who the thief was. At least there is some sense of closure.

I don't have much plans for this weekend. I might see if I can find someone doing fireworks, or I might invite my brother over for a cookout.

Willow87
05-27-2011, 06:32 PM
I'll take pictures of the variegated sedum sometime tomorrow. I look forward to it spreading. Those Table tomatoes are so cool, I really love the foliage. Its 97 here today and windy, no more rain for the next several days. My garden may look ugly when it gets hotter in summer. The only thing that does good are my cannas and my Russian sage which is in full bloom now. My Ditch lilies are about to bloom too. Its just so strange how different our climates really are.
I bet you will be so happy to move from your current place. I wish I could move to another place but that will have to wait another year unfortunately.
When my dad was alive he would BBQ for Memorial Day. Its a day to remember veterans. People BBQ, go out on area lakes, do things outdoors.

The Hollyberry Lady
05-27-2011, 06:43 PM
That'll be fun Tom...I love bar-b-ques! Yummy!

So yeah, it's a double edged sword...on the one hand it's great to know who the thief is, but on the other, it sucks that it's a neighbor!

I know one thing though, she'll never get another one out of me! The sad part is that I'm the type of person who would just give a person a plant, so she didn't need to steal from me.

Ok yeah I thought it was same thing as ours...Memorial Day! So you do have fireworks? I thought I would be rude to ask, so I refrained. :ha: I was second-guessing whether you guys would have fireworks or not.

My dad used to love to bar-b-que too, Cam...when he was alive. He was good at it and loved to do ribs and steaks.

No worries Cam...good things come to those who wait. You will find a great place in a year, no doubt. Living at home with your family though is a good thing and I'm sure your mom and sister need you. ;) Your sister's lucky...I wish I still had my brother around. :(

Can't wait to see your pics tomorrow. Maybe I'll be inspired to take some too...

After we eat we will go to a random cemetery and place flags on the graves of veterans. We aren't near any of our family members cemetery's, so they will just go onto graves of soldiers we don't know. It is just something we do to remember our veterans. :nanertank:

Hi guys!!! :03:

Don't worry, I'm ok. JaNan told me you guys were worrying. I just have a very painful finger infection that came on all of a sudden and I had to go to emergency. I got it from poking my finger into soil!

I woke up one morning and the tip of my finger was all swollen and sore. It got worse and worse and felt like someone was inside my finger scraping it with a knife! Horrible pain. They even prescribed something for the pain too. Who would have thought something so innocent could bring this kind of thing on. I'm on an antibiotic for 10 days but I just started it yesterday. Today is a bad day though and it's throbbing.

Do not put your bare hands and fingers in your garden soil. Use gloves. I made a mistake and am paying dearly for it. Thank goodness it's just the one finger. Can't wait for the swelling and the soreness to go away.

So I can't type too well, or take the greatest shots but I got a few. Some I'm still loading. Hope everyone is ok and enjoying spring. Missed you guys. ;)

I saw this fella tonight, next door...

Glad to see you here Sherry! We missed you! Once the guys see you back they will be posting again too! :ha:

Make you a hot toddy, and snuggle up with a good book or the computer and take good care of yourself! That's what I do every so often (though usually with the computer).

I bought some new stuff I want to share with you. Did you see our new variegated strawberries? One of my babies is yours Sherry, if I can get it to root! :)

Well, I guess I need to get motivated and take some pictures now! :drum:

We saw a blue jay fly across our yard yesterday. It was very blue.
Oh, I you probably read, but all of us got our varagated strawberries. Mine got planted and the next day we had heavy winds, thunder, and a tornado warning. Mine are wilting really bad. I hope they recover.

Sorry about your finger.

Just lay the runners down in soil and they'll root for you so easily JaNan, you won't believe. Once they root, you can snip it from the mother and you've got a whole new plant! ;)

I enjoy blue jays, Tom. I used to feed them...they love peanuts. I once attraced a whole family of more than 10 of them on our fence. They're such a gorgeous bird.

Yup, I'm wounded and waiting for some relief from this unbelievable pain. I'm a person who's never sick, so this is so weird. The pain is manageable right now but if I disappear suddenly, you'll know why. I'm trying to get some shots of the aero-garden stuff and still loading some others. I got a shot of my dinner for the dinner thread too. ;)

Looking forward to seeing your shots, JaNan. I saw you guys' variegated strawberry plants and I thought they were gorgeous! I bet you guys are thrilled. My aero-garden strawberry seedling is thriving.

So many post and pm's, so please give me time. Plus I can't type with my one finger.

GAH - I've been up all night window shopping on the internet!!!! Thinking about gettign one of those "Dinosaur Plants" that never die - anyone ever had one?

I plan on sticking my hands in the dirt quite often Sherry.... feels too good to let go. :)

Hi Sherry, I'm so glad you are alright. I rarely use gloves but when I was helping a local person separate his musella clump, I came home with this sore under my nail. It feels much better after I took some pain reliever but that was the first time anything like that happened to me. I was in a lot of pain too. I'm just so glad you are back. Zac what is a Dinosaur plant lol

The Hollyberry Lady
06-03-2011, 10:12 AM
I know what you mean Zac...one of my most favorite things is the feel of cool soil on my hands. It is a risk though because you could get an infection. Lots of times I didn't but this time I did.

Glad to be back too, Cam. Missed ya. :waving:

Gosh my finger is sore this morning. Was that recently that you had a sore under your nail after working with bare hands in the soil, Cam? I sure hope you don't have what I have! It sucks and last night I woke up in the middle of the night in excruciating agony. It seemed like forever for the pain medication to kick in and I couldn't sleep for an hour.

Hope you guys have a terrifc Friday and a great weekend too. I'm gonna try to get some shots of my peppers. Did you see the 'little blue' ones, Cam? Some of them are ripening...

So what are everyone's plans for the weekend? I'm just staying home, trying to heal my finger.

That plant is so beautiful! I just love the way the little fruits ripen at different stages, the color is just gorgeous. And the little Marble that you showed in the other thread full of flowers again. I just love them! The plants look so HUGE! I have some good size buds on some of the AG peppers.

I was writing a lengthy email and now need to get my pictures taken to post. So I am behind this morning.

Hi everyone, Sherry your peppers are always beautiful. Mine are just frozen in time and they are in full sun and getting plenty of water lol. The pain under my finger nail happened after I dug through the soil, but my finger didnt swell. I hurts a little now but its feeling alot better than yesterday. I didnt see your post last night Janan for some reason my mail notification didnt alert me. I went back this morning and saw your post lol.

I love all the colors too, JaNan. So cheerful and happy looking. :D

I took some shots of some others this afternoon, so I'll post them shortly. The 'little blue' peppers are the most colorful right now though. I'm enjoying them so much.

My finger hurts and I gotta take something for it. Oh I hope it heals quickly. I've had enough of this. :(

It's a beautiful sunny day here today. I enjoy taking shots when it's sunny. I've got some black pearl fruits now too!!! :08:

Happy Saturday, gang! :waving: Hope all is well. Unfortunately, I'm not doing so hot. I have to go back to emergency about my finger. Since I've been on the antibiotic, my finger is filling up with puss! Today it's really bad. I have to go have it lanced and drained. It's really super swollen and tight too, and I just can't get any relief from it. I've never had anything like this in my entire life and hope I never do again. Wow, it hurts. :(

So what's everyone up to today. Anyone around?

Happy Birthday Zac! I hope you are having a great one. Sherry I cant believe your finger is swelling up again, that sounds so painful. I hope you feel better soon. I would be so scared if my finger did that. Today I just did a few errands with my mom and sister and told one of my sisters coworkers bye since she is going on a 3 week vacation to Hawaii. I wish I could go to Hawaii lol

Ok who wants to see a picture of my finger?!

Teasing of course! It's too yucky and I wouldn't be caught dead showing it on the internet! :ha:

The good news is that I spoke with the doc that I saw before and I'm seeing him at 9:00 am tomorrow morning, so he can drain it for me and relieve the horrible pressure. I will never put my bare hands in outside soil again.

I think our mail service is on a rotating strike right now so we're not supposed to be too affected by it...right now anyway.

Oh and JaNan, Tom, and Cam...remember when I mailed you guys the first envelope with seeds, way back when? Do you know Dean only got his a few days ago?! I didn't think he was ever gonna receive them but he pm'ed me the other day and said he got them! :goteam:

I am so glad because in all the history of my sending and receiving seeds, have I ever flat out not got something, or vice versa. I didn't want to break a record. ;)

So I guess not too many people are logged on...just as I wrote that, someone posted here! :ha: I'll go read it now...

The Hollyberry Lady
06-04-2011, 03:27 PM
Hi Cameron! :waving:

Well it's not swelled up 'again'...the swelling has just never gone down. He thought that after a few days on the anti-biotic, it would settle down and not be so sore, but it's actually worse now. :( I can't stand the pressure anymore.

This is just ridiculous really and I've never had anything like it before. It sounds gross but the doc told me they're going to test the puss that comes out of it and find out exactly which bacteria is the culprit! Then he's going to prescribe a medication specifically to kill it. I'll be there first thing.

I'm trying to make some greek salad for dinner later but it's tough with this damn finger in the way that I can't use. I was thinking of making a pork chop or something later to go with it. Maybe I'll just say 'screw it' and just have the salad! :ha: Feta cheese is protein enough.

Wish I could go out but I gotta stick close to home this weekend. I was gonna take a few more pics once I finish making the salad. Gotta snip some fresh herbs to put in it too...

So how are things going, Cam? How are your pepper plants?

: )

Willow87
06-04-2011, 04:01 PM
Wow Sherry I hope they can find an antibiotic that will kill the bacteria fast. That has got to be very annoying and painful. I sort of had a similar experience except it was from a spider bite. I had a bump on my arm that was the size of a lemon and I was in so much pain. I never did go back to that doctor to see what spider caused it. It scared my mom and my teacher and the school nurse lol. I had a hamburger for dinner, I only ate half of it because I wasnt in the mood.
I looked around my garden and so far my Musellas are still alive thankfully but they look so bad right now. My Orinoco pups arent growing much and they are burning so I dont know what do. I warned them that they better start growing before the really hot temps got here lol. I told my mom that I want either a dwarf Orinoco banana or a Texas Star banana for my birthday next month. I want to start with a larger plant so that I dont have the issue of small plants burning up lol. The peppers are just frozen in time. I have been giving them plenty of water and sunlight but they are barely growing. I dont know whats wrong with the plants in my yard

The Hollyberry Lady
06-04-2011, 05:46 PM
I can't wait to be rid of it for good. It totally sucks. I see you've been through something similar so you know what I'm going through. I hope they bring me some relief in the morning. I just soaked it in hot salted water to relieve it a bit.

It was really gross what drained out of it though...first a whole bunch of water, then a lot of green and yellow puss (yuck! :() and then blood. More came out when I got home, but I think it's fully drained now. The swelling has gone down nearly completely and my finger looks like a finger again.

Still sore but not like before. I'm happy it's feeling and looking better. :D Now I just have to keep it clean and keep taking the anti-biotic.

So I hope everyone had an ok weekend and you're enjoying your Sunday night. I was exhausted from the whole finger ordeal and those painkillers really knocked me on my %!*...so I took a nap. :ha: I slept for a long time, but that's likely a good thing right now.

Mmmmm...I love spicey mexican food too JaNan. I don't suffer too bad yet but my mom warns me that I will when I get older. I just hope I'm near a toilet if it affects me that bad. :ha:

Now I have a hankering for mexican food...thanks a lot. ;) I like making homemade tacos with the hard shells. This might be just the excuse I needed to make them tomorrow!

So I was just about to make a phonecall to my mom for a minute or two. She just bought a nice little glider chair and table set for her balcony and she's all excited because she bought these globe garden lights to wrap around the railing too.

She's got a purple beauty pepper, and a "patio" tomato plant...plus a beautiful "orchid blue" geranium. They're all thriving and the purple beauty is setting fruits now! :goteam:

I was going to bring some more of my plants to her place but I've been too busy packing and dealing with my finger infection. I don't think I can manage the back and forth trips right now with trying to pack and get ready to move. Moving is my only priority right now...apart from my aero-garden and pepper plants! :ha:

Ok so I've babbled enough now. Your turn...

Jananas Bananas

Take some pictures of her plants too the next time you are over there. I would love to see them. And her new lights when it is dark. If she doesn't mind that is.

I make what I call JaNan Tacos at home. I fry a good size tater and an onion, then add ground beef and season it up. Once that is browned I spoon it into a soft whole wheat tortilla. Then add sprinkled CoJack cheese and Tomato Salsa. My family loves them - so much so that my daughter asked me to make them for her birthday meal. I'll take the leftover meat blend and scramble some eggs into it the next morning and have breakfast tacos. Very, very good!

Do you still have a lot to pack or are you getting close?

~J

The Hollyberry Lady
06-05-2011, 06:28 PM
I'm a quarter of the way there...but a journey of a thousand miles, begins with the first
step. ;)

Mmmmm, those sound yummy. I can just imagine how delicious they are. If I lived near you I'd be begging you to make them all the time too, JaNan. :ha:

All this food talk is making me hungry. I made homemade chicken noodle soup with the leftover chicken carcass. I added a hot pepper to my bowl to spice it up a bit. I'm still kinda sipping on it. Love soup in a cup. I'm hungry for something more though. Maybe I should have had a bun with it.

So yeah, I was thinking of making a little terrarium with some low-growing plants. They're so pretty and interesting and I was looking at pictures in a book recently. I'm gonna shop around for the right type of glass container with a lid. I'm not sure what I'll put in it just yet but likely some succulents for sure. I'd love some flowers in there also. We'll see. Ever made one?

I was going to go to the 24-hour grocery store/nursery this evening but now I'm not sure. I'm still feeling kinda tired.

So what are your plans this evening?

: )

Jananas Bananas
06-05-2011, 06:46 PM
So was it from the Little Blue? And was it hot (the pepper in your soup)?

Yes, I have made terrariums before and given them as gifts. I buy my glassware at the thrift stores I frequent. You can get some really good size ones on the cheap there.

I think it is amazing that you have a 24 hour grocery store/nursery. I guess a super WalMart would be the closest thing to that here. Probably just read on the computer tonight. I still have to go feed the animals and water the plants. I may start a new thread I have been thinking about.

Where are the guys this evening? Guess they are all doing something if the sun is still up. They will join us after it gets dark when they don't have anything better to do! :ha:

The Hollyberry Lady
06-05-2011, 07:04 PM
Yup, it was a 'little blue' fruit and boy are they hot! I love them though. :D

Yes, we have a superstore Wal-mart too but this is just a grocery store but with a nursery too. Last year, some summer nights, I was buying plants at 2 o'clock in the morning! It was fun on nights I couldn't sleep.

I think I grossed the guys out with all my finger infection talk! :ha: Speaking of which, just when I thought it was over, I saw more yucky stuff oozing out of it a few minutes ago. I gently squeezed it over the sink and it actually squirted out!!! How disgusting! How much more will there be? The doc said that there would be more but I didn't expect this. Now it's sore again. Oh well, at least that crap is coming out though.

I apologize to anyone I've grossed out! ;)

Yup JaNan, I'll try to get a shot of my mom's plants one time. I don't think she'll mind but she can be weird like that sometimes. I had to beg her to let me show that shot of her in the image thread today. She finally agreed and didn't see the harm.

I gotta go pour some more peroxide on this finger...

: )

Jananas Bananas
06-05-2011, 07:46 PM
Peroxide is good stuff! That should boil it out really well!

Aw, they are boys, they should be tougher than that! :ha: Where is it coming out? From under your fingernail? Is there a hole where they lanced it?

Just finished feeding all the animal children. It takes a little while even with both of us doing it. :)

The Hollyberry Lady
06-05-2011, 07:57 PM
No, it's nowhere near under my nail. It's on the side of my index finger. It was a blister bubble looking thing, but filled with puss. Even the fingerprint pad was like a huge tight hard ball for days. It's now back to normal mostly, size-wise, but it's leaking like crazy. I've been still squeezing more out of it since my last post. It's just unreal how much fluid was in there and I guess still is. I bet in the morning there will be lots more. How yucky, eh?

I was hoping I wouldn't have to take another one of those painkillers but it's sore and tender from all the squeezing...plus being so tight and swollen all those days. Looks like I might be a zombie again soon, but I'm trying to hold off taking one if I can. They knock me out.

I'm using the peroxide to keep it clean and to help it heal. I have some really good fast-healing polysporin also, so I should be as good as new in no time. This is the weirdest thing I've ever had and hope I never have again.

Great that all the little animal kids are fed. I would enjoy doing it but can imagine it's tons of work to do it all.

By the way JaNan, I really like your perfume bottle you showed in the girly thread. ;)

:03: Hi Tom!

Yes, it is a lot of work, but I wouldn't be happy without them.

I have been thinking about a niggling thing - I'm PMing you Sherry!

Take the painkillers, your body heals best when you are asleep! And you probably don't need to go to the all night nursery either. Is your city like Las Vegas (the city that never sleeps)? Do you walk or take the bus or drive when you are on these two in the morning excursions? You freak me out walking to your mailbox at midnight or 1 AM.

The Hollyberry Lady
06-05-2011, 09:57 PM
Yeah it looks mostly normal now but it's real tender and sore still. I'm all fixed up for the night now and it seems to have stopped leaking. I squeezed on and off for a couple of hours because it just wouldn't stop leaking. I couldn't believe when it squirted like that!

I just finished soaking it in peroxide again and then I put a 2 in 1 polysporin on it that prevents further infection, and wrapped it in gauze with a big huge bandaid. I gotta take the last anti-biotic of the day at midnight. It was supposed to be at 11 but I missed an hour earlier. I feel like that's all I do now, is pop pills! :ha: I'm a person who puts off taking a tylenol for a headache so it's weird for me to be taking all this medication.

I gave in and took a painkiller about a half hour ago. Still waiting for it to kick in. If you wanna talk to me, you better do it now...before I start drooling! :ha:

So how are the plants, Tom? Did you shave? I gotta shave my legs tomorrow...

Hey, they should be happy if they get water every week. It is a good thing there isn't a SPCP or I might be fined for plant cruelty.

I need to find easier ways to grow plants. I'm so lazy.

I need to find easier ways to grow plants.

Here's a couple of solutions: Dinosaur plant (http://www.thinkgeek.com/geektoys/science/8039/) or Solar plant (http://www.thinkgeek.com/geektoys/cubegoodies/cbe7/) :ha:

Sherry you didn't gross me out, I took a late nap so I could wake up early to get a few things done in the middle of the night. I'm shopping for an electric tea kettle - know of a good one with variable temp setting?

Aloha, Pals! :waving:

I'm not a zombie tonight so we might be able to talk. :2738:

So how are things? Too funny Tom, about the SPCP! :ha: I've got the solution to your "lazy plant-care syndrome"...hire a gardener! :08:

So um, it's hard to believe it's 10 already! At least here it is.

You don't even want to know what came out of my finger this morning! Yuck. I'm glad you guys aren't grossed out, but frankly, I am!

I was just sipping on some green tea. Never had the ice cream though, Zac. I know I'd love it. Green tea is extremely healthy and nutricious. It wards off all kind of diseases too...heart disease being one of them. My dad died of heart disease...at 52. :(

So how's everyone's Monday going? I was showering all my pepper plants earlier. Boy I've got a lot of them...and more coming. I'm so happy to be harvesting some already.

It's been an okay monday for me. I saw two pups starting up from my banana plant. It seems to like the outdoors.

Also, I looked at the strawberry plant, the leaves look like they are recovering. the green part of the leaves seem to be a little greener and a little less brittle.

I'm glad to hear it about your strawberry plant Tom. They're shallow rooting so keep it well watered. ;)

Exciting that you've got some pups! :goteam:

I'm excited too because I've got peppers growing from one end of my apartment to the other! :ha: There are fruits in every window, including the bedroom and bathroom! I will definitely need to freeze some.

Check out these cool mystery ones from JaNan...
