Hey. I have a couple of beautiful Zebra bananas (I'll show pics later) and one particular pup formed; it's beautiful and is currently 5ft 8 at the tip. I was pulling it out of the ground to put in in a pot (in case the others don't survive) to give to my papa and SNAP! It snapped near the base and has no roots!!!!!!! I have it in a pot with peat moss and a TON of water. Should I put root hormones on the bottom or what????? PLEASE HELP!!!! It's already looking bad! I love this plant so much! I raised it me self! Please help!

Make sure it is kept 80F or more so that growth will be stimulated. At low temps it will go dormant, rather than growing new roots.
You might want to lighten up on the water for a while so it doesn't rot - with no roots, it won't take up much water.

I would def use a rooting hormone like Rootone. It's only like $3 US dollars at Amazon and you could prolly find it at any garden shop. But def keep it dry! I read that banana plants are very prone to corm-rot in the winter even if they are kept warm! You said it was a "Zebra" banana. Did you mean "Zebrina"? Just curious since I have 2 Zebrinas on the way in the mail right now! They are awesome looking plants! Good luck, dude! :) I'll be watching for photos of yours!

I want to understand this correctly:
you pulled the plant out and it broke off from the corm? So all you had was the plant itself but the stalk was broken off? As in, the top part (above ground) of the plant was in your hands and the root stalk/stem/part was in the ground?
I've never bothered with keeping any that break like that since there are no roots. I've never heard or read about those being able to grow since the growth medium is not intact.
