Can anyone help identify these bananas? This picture was taken in my mother in law's neighborhood and they have three of these stands in their front yard. I tried to ask, but the man who was outside did not speak English.

Sorry for the quality of the picture, I was trying to be discrete. I would estimate that p stem height is 15 feet.

No clue, but they look wonderful! I really like the fact that they are using old, cut-off p-stems as the border to the bed! Nice touch!

Looks to be 'Namwah' (Pisang Awak). It is a little hard to tell, upclose shots of the fruit and flowers (which is looks like he cuts off the male flowers so that can make it harder to ID) really help a lot though.

Thanks Gabe. I will get better pictures next time I am in the area. There are two other identical stands in the front yard...maybe one has a flower. I think the family that lives there is Vietnamese so I will try looking up the translation to see if they can confirm.

A Vietnamese name for this type is 'Chuoi Tay', but there are many other names too.
