Hello all the members!
My name is Markku Hakkinen and I am based on Finland. I am a Musa taxonomist. I have studied bananas some 30 years which has resulted some 75 publications. I am now an expedition on Musa in China until October 20th.
I might be able to reply some of the member's questions but my time is limited to answer allthe questions.
Best wishes,
Markku.

Thanks to all of those who have welcomed me for joining Bananas.org. I noticed that I have had received quite many welcoming mails.
I have been in field for bananas here in Sichuan, China. It is impossible task to me answer individually from here as mostly I only can use the Internet Cafe's slow and very poor Internet connections.
I am in Sichuan one week more until 25th and then moving and continuing my studies in Yunnan's temperate region. I'll be back in Finland October 20th.
So far the trip has been rather successful when wild bananas are concerned.
Best wishes,
Markku.

Markku, you can change your profile settings so that you don't receive an e-mail each time someone welcomes you or thanks you if the flood of e-mails becomes a problem with your limited Internet access.
I had read your recent article in the CRFG Fruit Gardener magazine and had suggested that Jarrred send you a personal invite to the banana forum, so I'm partly to blame for the e-mail bombardment! :ha:
Is there anywhere else that we can read any of your articles (i.e., free and online, etc.)?
