Sadly I will be away from the org for an extended time as 2 weeks ago my brother was found dead in Africa, and yesterday my mother died - so I will be in England for quite a while. I'll catch up when I get back! :waving:

I'm so very sorry to hear of your double loss, Island Cassie. I just visited my own brother's grave a couple days ago, on the death anniversary.

May God be with you and your family during this difficult time.

Thanks for your kind thoughts - I came back at the end of October, and have been doing nothing much in the meantime. But we have a visiting vet coming down from Canada for 2 weeks to treat and neuter/spay the local Dominican-owned cats and dogs including the street dogs, so that will be a busy time as we will have 2 vets operating at once with a throughput of up to 25 animals a day! I volunteer in the post-op recovery area and also do parasite treatment which they all need.

Glad you are back safe!

The neuter/spay for the cats and dogs is such a neat thing for that Dr to do!! So great of you to help in recovery. I've heard that for some it can be traumatic waking up? I believe so strongly in having that done. We will take a stray cat in to have it done if it becomes apparent that it's bound and determined to live here.

Yes Deb - some of them are really slow to come round - especially the little kitties. Good for you for taking in that stray cat to the vet - their quality of life is so much better afterwards.
