Default Golden African?

This was the first banana plant I purchased 3 years ago. It was by Mail order from a company in Georgia. They called it a Golden African. It was supposed to grow 20 feet tall. I have several of them now. They all are very small. The tallest may be 4 feet high. I have Ice cream banana plants right next to them that are nearly 3 times as high. I have not had any flowers from these plants. Any thoughts?

Just after I posted this I saw a picture of the Super Dwarf Cavendish at Northern Tropics. They do look very similar.

you said you got the plant from a mail order company in Georgia who renamed it and told you it would grow 20 feet??? hmm.. who could that be?

if it pups profusely and the pups seem to catch up with the older plants that only grow 4' high.... saltydad is right.. that is Super Dwarf Cavendish..

Looks to me like 'Dwarf Cavendish'. 'Super Dwarf Cavendish' is much stockier and has very short petioles, almost no petiole at all, you can see your plant has petioles with some length. There are some forms of 'Dwarf Cavendish' which are quite short, reaching only 3-4ft.

Thank you for your replies. When I read about the dwarf and (super dwarf) cavandish it describes red variegation of the juvenile leaves, which these all have.
Ron Mcb- these weren't from the Nursery with the odd photo's - it was the other guys from the same area.
Thanks again.
