Okay so i got this plant well, two of em for free back in Oct 09 from this woman who grew them from seeds 4 years ago i cut them back in Nov to 15 inches tall.
my question is will they flower in a year or 2 at the regular hight 7 feet or something? even tho i cut them back? or will it flower at a shorter hight? thanks for any advice :)

Here are some pictures from June till now.

I don't know much about E. ventricosum, but I thought they had a red midrib? Maybe that's glauca, or is it glaucum? As I said, I don't really know about these...
Anyhow, cool plants!!!

They may flower shorter, but not guaranteed. They will generally flower in containers though, and when they do that they can be can be small, though they may take longer to do so.

Wow, you're like some kind of banana expert, Gabe! ;)

I have seeds for Ensete Ventricosm, but was unable to get them to pop. Then again...who knows how old they were!

Looks like one cool plant though.

He sure is, and I've heard nothing but great things about him...and his posts are fabulous!

I'm learning a lot from him. Thanks for all your contributions, Gabe!

Maybe Gabe will see this and comment on the relationship between E. Ventricosum and E. Maurelii. I sent a Maurelii to a member here last year since I had to many and it promptly " reverted " to green. I've heard of some red variety bananas doing this and now this particular Ensete as well?

What gives... a stress response?
