A gardening pal from Turkey sent me a succulent cutting in the mail just as an experiment to see if it would survive...
It survived alright...here it is today...

To think it started out as one tiny little cutting when it arrived last year! It's huge now.
Good luck with your trades, Jezebel.

Unfortunately. Only banana trees in my garden froze last winter(- 4 ° C).

Welcome!
Unfortunately. Only banana trees in my garden froze last winter(- 4 ° C).
Interestingly, my low last year was also -4C but I didn't lose any of my bananas except for an Ae Ae which had first been blown over in strong winds. I try to keep my banana plants in pots until they are larger, maybe 3" in diameter, and then plant them in the ground as they are then large enough to endure the frosty winter weather.

Exactly what I was trying to show, Jezebel! :goteam:
I was so surprised when the cutting arrived all the way from Turkey and not only lived but thrived for me!
One thing though...
I don't think he labelled the box as having a cutting inside because we weren't sure if it was legal or not to send live cuttings and plants...on his end. Canada's pretty cool about stuff like that, so I knew it wouldn't be a problem here. :ha:
No harm done though and now I have a lovely succulent plant from Turkey!
