ive been bit hard too.. my bananas did super this summer/fall.. they are
all dug up and stored away for winter.. looking foward to next yr..
so of course i have to do something with bananas..so i bought some seed..
from georgiavines.. looks like a good vender..
going to try musa itinerans,m.yunnanensis,m.balbisiana,ensete glaucum,
and e.ventricosum..
thanks to all here on your experimentation and sucess stories..
i hope i will be sucessful with some of my 1st tries..
what i have as an idea for growing condition..is use aquarium..use sub
heater(in water) have elevated level where the germinating pots will be(not in water above)
reason im thinking this is i dont know how to get a warm enough condition
..as i understand needs to be around 84-86 F to have sucess in the seeds
germinating..???
with the aquarium(closed system) will keep area humid..and warm soil..
does this seem reasonable? sure open to thoughts..
brings me back to my college science project days.. mmm..i think one of
my teachers was darwin.. LOL :)
also.. i take it that it is recommended to scarify the seed to get it going
on germinating?
thanks.. looking foward to some fun..

Yup, I used an old aquarium a few years back. works a treat. You can also put a couple of grow lights in there for once seeds germinate

thanks 51st state.. good idea on the grow lights... yea..im sure to
get the little seedlings to put on some size they will need good light to
grow..
looking foward to see how things go..
thanks to all for your insights!!!!
