Finally got a flag! This is an unknown variety but some have suggested it could be Brazilian. P-Stem is almost 11'. :woohoonaner:

P-stem is starting to bulge today as the flower starts pushing out. This is my first flower, so I wonder do I need to support the fruit with supports? or is it not needed?
You'll have to be the jusdge yourself. I dont think they all need support and I didn't do any extra to mine but may of we get some high winds. If you get a big heavy bunch I'd definitely do it.

The hot weather shouldn't adversely affect it, but I'd be checking the soil moisture twice a day and watering when applicable to prevent it from being too dry for too long of duration. It would also be best to water in early morning or evening.

lol... it's not Ice Cream, I've got about a lot of them and its different. The leafs are so long on this plant (8ft), just spectacular to see.
Here is the latest!

Woohoo... I've ID it as a musa praying hands based on the fruit. Now those MASSIVE 8+ ft leafs make sense:) such a beautiful specimen.
Very cool you were able to identify it. Keep the pics coming!:woohoonaner:
