I bought a Chalice vine aka Cup of Gold Vine or Solandra Maxima in early January as a 1 and a half foot tall plant. It spent most of the winter not growing but it never really declined in health either. Well when it went outdoors, it grew very fast! Today its about 10 feet tall!! It used to be behind some of the plants but yesterday I moved it to a location with full sun.

Im hoping for some blooms but it probably wont happen until maybe winter if Im lucky. Also I want to add that its in a very small pot (I think a 3 or 5 gallon) so its pretty impressive to me to grow that quickly. It probably would have tripled in size in the ground (30 feet?!!!).

This is it being moved. It took a while to move it to its new spot because I didnt want any of the stems damaged.

Here it is in its new location

And heres another angle<a href="http://s705.photobucket.com/albums/ww59/tropicalzone7/?action=view&current=DSCN1579.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i705.photobucket.com/albums/ww59/tropicalzone7/DSCN1579.jpg" border="0" alt="Solandra maxima"></a>

I really do recommend this vine for adding the tropical look. They arent very common potted plants in areas where they dont survive the winter but they are very easy to care for, at least during the summer, and look good near pretty much anything. They seem to do okay in pots and the blooms are amazing. I cant wait until I see blooms on mine but Until then Im going to enjoy the foliage. It is my tallest potted plant and growing every day!!
Thanks for looking!!

Its definitely doesnt seem like too many people know about this vine, so if you come across these pics and are wondering if they will do well in a pot, at least now you know that they seem to do pretty well! I havent seen any pics of this vine in a pot on the internet but Im sure that its been done by many people.
Good luck!!!!
