Its been a long and hot and HUMID summer. We are right around 20 inches of rain since June 1st... its just been soggy. Growth on the bananas has been impressive, yet maybe not quite as much as i thought considering the conditions. Still been fun and i have about 40 pups to dig up and pot up. No more storing corms, just leaving the big plants in the ground to weather the winter elements.

I have another little "island" with a mat of basjoos too...

I still can't believe the castor bean hasn't flowered...its about 12ft tall right now.

Everything looks great! Im also surprised that the castors havent flowered at a size like that but theres still plenty of time! Maybe some basjoo flowers next year for you too since they look like they are getting pretty impressive.

I think I have those same kind of castor beans. Mine is huge too but no flowers. They'd better hurry up, I was growing them for seeds and I don't want to have to dig one up to put it into the greenhouse to get seeds!
