New to Musa but am starting a collection of Bonsai Musa,
I have one that is were small, given to me by a neighbour, I expected it to grow taller but it has not done so over the last couple of years.
I got it as a sucker, now it is producing its own suckers.
Its mother Musa is no taller than 4-5 inches, may be some one can help me identify it.

Hello DCruz & Welcome to the Org. from the Sportsman's Paradise. :^) Idon't think you post is big enough to ID the plant in question. If you had a pup in a large pot and let it grow it would be much likely. :^)

I shall take a pup as soon as decent roots develop and grow on in a larger pot. But I think it does not grow any taller than 4-6 inches. I had it for a couple of years now.
Lets see..

Possibly Little Prince. Not really sure if it's a super miniature type or if it's just a small plant.

Im thinking little prince also. I have one and its a pretty slow grower (but it can grow fast with enough soil). Also its a great pupper despite its small height. I think my tallest is 6 inches although the mother (which died) did get up to a foot maybe 2 feet. I started with one 3 or 4 years ago and now I have 7 or 8. Its my oldest banana plant but also my smallest!!

Well Little Price seems to be most likely...
I have taken off and potted 2 pups, one I managed to get roots with, the other does not have roots, do you think it will root.

I guess its according to the healthy and size of the pup. It might root but the odds are probably against you. Fortunately these bananas are amazing at pupping so you will have many more soon!
Good luck!

I would say if it has some corm with it, it will likely pull through just fine. If not....maybe. I'd try it anyway....no harm in an attempt, right? I would advise waiting till pups are fairly large before separating to increase success rates. Best of luck!
