Pond is small, 10' x 15', approximately. I have the pump with bubbler and filter/skimmer. How often should it be run? Only 1 fish, a couple frogs, the rest are plants.
Thanks,

I run mine constantly on the pond with the koi, the other pond doesn't even have a pump. If you have a heavy fish load or you want crystal clear water, run it more. If you don't mind it looking like, say, a pond, then you really don't have to have one at all. :) I think too many people want their pond to look like a swimming pool, artificially clear, but that's a rant best saved for another time!

I run mine all the time. I have five goldfish and a bunch of skeeter fish.

Here are a couple shots. There's not nearly enough plants obviously. I'm not sure if I should buy some more, or wait for the existing plants to propagate themselves. The grass, which I thought was gone, have started to come back around the pond with more frequent watering. Glad I don't have to resod it. The 2 real frogs are hiding in the water somewhere. I'm gonna plant some other plants soon to fill up the yard, put a bench in too.

I am still surprised that 2 business owners and 2 manager at Cicra 1857 in Baton Rouge Louisiana let a 19 year old build this!Awesome!
It has a skimmer with leaf basket and 3 different kind of pads in the filter
w/a 5400 gph pump and 3 inch pvc inforced tubing.
It was about 2,000 for the pond kit,and 800 at the rock place.
the new linear was around 500-700 and they had the pool linear laying around.

Very nice. The first thing that comes to mind is that queen palm might cause a mess when it starts dropping its reproductive matter, what do you think?
Anyway, great pond, I would love to have one.

Brian, great ponds. I would 1. add some more plants now. No need to fill it, but enough for partial shading and accelerate the nitrate removal, and 2. run your pump all the time. If you don't you run the risk of having some of the bacteria die since they're not getting a fresh supply of oxygenated water. Also, with fish, I would always want the pumps circulating the water. I keep my pump running 12 months a year, even when iced over.
And Chief- you've been saying you want a pond for years. Now's the time!!!!

Actually when the linear ripped in our old pool I rescued like 30 lily and grew them in the huge pool for 1 year till they got large and the water after a year was 4 foot deep in the deep in and I threw some fish in,and transported.I am very educated in aquaculture and almost landed a job where they wanted to
have a 2 year degree or pursuing the degree. One of 2 of the head guys owned the Koi farm in Port Allen and I don't think he really wanted me to know how he was breeding hes koi,and the lady told me they do some koi breeding in 4'x10' ponds and 6 foot deep.I don't know why people get they get upset for someone very energetic, and absorbs as much knowledge as possible.
Thanks Brian
