Up until recently my favorite was Ice Cream. Mostly based on the ornamental value since I don't think I will be able to get fruit living in Dallas.
However just recently my Gran Nain (that I bought at Home Depot earlier this spring at just a foot high including the leaves) has turned me around and it is now my favorite. Excellent large leaves and pretty win resistant.
That will be my favorite for taking Pups in preparation for next year. If I prepare a few during winter they should be even bigger once they get in the ground.
What do you think?

Nice plant, you may try rotating the images clockwise to make it easier to view.

I recently took a photo of an Ensete M. marked at Home Depot as a Gran Nain. More than likely its a D. Cavendish just to let you know. :^) You might want to take a pic so we can see the whole plant. It does look nice what we can see. :^)

Doesn't the Gran Nain have maroon on the underside of new leaves ?

Must be new to nanners. =]
You can get plenty of nanners to flower in zone 8.
I have what I think is ice cream flowerin now in 6
(38n) it is also on it's third year....
Now havesting is another issue altogether.

My favorite plant is my dwarf cavendish can't beat the leaf to stem size. I would like to get my hands on a grain nain, I think they are similary sized.

Happy growing
