Back in April I planted my 9ft P-stem Orinoco in the ground,I overwinter it in a dormant stage,May and June go by not one leaf has grown,I noticed it was rotting at the base, and about 6 inches a way,a pup had appeared, and since June first,it has grown to where the top of this leaf is close to 13ft,now is that unreal or what???
It has grown as tall as my 5 yr old Ensete Maurelli in a month and a half.
Now my planting bed is my compost bed as well,I compost everything right where I intend to grow them the next year.

Now the banana to the lower right is the Raja Puri in flower.

I'd say its a combination of a prime site and corm power. Looking Great :^)

I'm sure the compost plays a 75% reason for the fast growth, plus the nutrients
from the mother decomposing as well .
Three months of growing time is still left,so I'm hoping for spectacular!!!

I had one grow to about 12 ft stem height last summer from a pup--some of the last leaves looked like they were almost 8 ft long! Unfortunatley, it did not make it thru the winter, but I already have a replacement pup that is over 8 ft.
