Are Pisang Ceylon cold hardy? What is the coldest the corm can take?

Well my Pisang Ceylon was 5-6 feet last year, and after the cold winter and having a heat-tape on it... It's a whole 2 feet tall so far. So I could have done better this season with a T/C and got a couple more feet. :^)

May die back to the ground in colder climates. Here in zone 8 we regularly loose the pseudo-stem back to the ground over the winter months.

Sunfish - NC where I am is 8b. But 8b here and 8b were you are or somewhere else is different. I think the coldest it ever got since the 70's here was like 19* this past winter. But our apartment is also near a large river one side and the ocean the other side. So that helps temps. Have a guy I can get a regular mysore from that has grown them local here. They came back after our bad winter. Or should I risk getting a PC? It might be a 6 months-year before it got planted in the ground. So I would bring it inside for the winter. Thanks for your help!

I would just be guessing which one would do better for you. So lets see what others say.

Mine is only 6ft, I lost it in the green house last winter and had to cut it back to the stem. so it has grown fast, I have not tried it out all winter. but may try when I get a few pups. I am in 7b in NC.
