Anyhttp://lh6.ggpht.com/_of77_9IEPRg/TENXjC8SiSI/AAAAAAAAELI/OLnfVX-kuEI/MVC-015F.JPGone have pics of this banana in flower and hands.
Mine is 5 years now,I know it has grown well over 100 leaves and still no flower.
I'm not sure if I'll be able to repot this thing come late fall,it is so huge and heavy, just about not got it out of its pot this spring,I had to lay it down on top of me,and push with my feet on the edge of the container, and roll it over into the planting hole.

LOL...I would have liked to have seen this. It sounds comical! :ha:

Here are some pictures of the flower from the wiki page:

Not really entirely sure what the fruit look like hanging on the plant as I've never seen pictures of this.

Yeah,it was kind of funny at that!!!LOL
Wow! What a pretty flower!
The size of my nanner,is so huge,I can't even put my arms around the whole way!
I'm sure she ways way over 200lbs.
The one in the Wiki photo, looks like a baby compared to the size of mine.
I;m wondering if it will ever flower, and maybe I just should just cut the rootball up in fourths this fall, and hope new sprouts will appear.

Yeah, I know...that one was really small to be blooming. They do get a LOT larger, as you very well know!

Um....I wouldn't recommend it. Ensetes don't pup like musas, so I bet you would just end up killing the plant and gaining nothing. If you want to get more/smaller plants off the main plant, there is a propegation method that seems to work well (for maurelii at least). Search the forums for maurelii propegation or something like that....there are threads on it (and pics in the wiki page). Essentially, you cut it off at the ground and butcher the crap out of the center growth point. It looks like crap for a while and then turns into a ton of little plants that you can then separate off.

wow nice plants & pics. What size pot do you have it in that its not big enough? I wouldn't go cutting anything I've been growing for 5 years. :^)

Thanks Clare,I have now,and I like what I see!!!!!
Yep I seen a post sometime back on propagation of one of these, looked shocking until you see all the pups appear!!!
I'd really hate to cut her up,but she is so heavy and big, takes a lot greenhouse space, but 5 yrs now is a long time,I'm wondering if she will ever flower!!!!!
Do all bananas flower???

I would say it's a safe bet to say 'yes' all bananas flower. I still am waiting on proof that Siam Ruby does, but I'm fairly certain that it does....but that it requires very delicate/particular conditions to do so.

Its in a 30 gallon pot when I overwinter in the greenhouse, right now it is in the ground.

This is a pic 2 years ago,it was a lot bigger last year!
