I saw some 3 gallon dragon fruit plants at a local Lowes today. Anybody know how this plant would do in my area? Zone 9a. 110F+ degrees in the summer, and 25F low in the winter.
Thanks!

Harvey has about the same climate as you and he is growing them. So he's the one .

What would be causing ants to eat the ends of my dragon fruit plants? They are causing damage to them.

Janan, I just posted that I have ants on my DF in another thread!
Of all the segments/branches, they are going for 3 little growths on one branch. I knock them off & they are back. I was thinking maybe it's the start of flowers & have some sweet nectar in them. Ahh, wishful thinking.

I agree with Tony that the ants are attracted to whatever is causing the damage or to the excretions from the damage. I've never seen ants swarm on a dragon fruit node and cause damage. And yes, when you get true buds the ants will be regular, welcome visitors.
