So, here we are in Texas... hot as blazes, as usual. We decided to replace our old A/C before it went out and we spent the whole day today without A/C. It's wasn't too bad because it was cloudy and we had a nice rain come through. It got up to 86 degrees in the house until we saw it was 77 outdoors at the Rangers' game after the rain so we opened up the windows and got a little relief. Come 8:00 p.m. the A/C men were still messing around with the condenser outdoors and finally broke it to us that there "were problems." Well, here we are, brand new A/C and condenser, and no working A/C and since it's the 4th of July weekend, we won't have it working until TUESDAY! It's like living in a swamp here since we've had all the rain from Hurricane Alex... add heat to that. It makes me realize just how much we rely on A/C here in America and I wonder how people survive here and in other countries without it.

Ours was out for a few days (4) 2 weeks ago during the high humidity and 90s temps. Turned out all we needed was a shot of freon. I commiserate with you.

I've never had AC here in San Diego. I know in Florida people go from AC house to AC car to AC office. When I was selling my condo ,in Ft.Myers Beach Fl., the real estate agent came over to have me sign papers. The AC was off and the guy melted right before my eyes.
