I was going to suggest that it might be rust pustules but that isn't what it looks like. Rust also normally appears on the undersides of leaves.

Hey Bananaman, It's funny because I call my Fiance` Banana man , he totally has no interest in Banana tree growing and can't figure out my fascination with them.
He is from Jamaica and He lives off of Bananas and I must bring home the most perfect Bananas or he is such a whiner.
Anyway.. I bought the plant from Green Earth and it came with a certificate of health do you think it could be disease? or is it something I've done?, I followed the instructions, I used sterile soil.
Thanks so much for your input!

I don't really think it's anything to worry over. I think it will go away as the plant grows. In the meantime, in the event that it is a disease of some sort, try to keep the leaves dry so as not to encourage the spread. If it doesn't clear up on the next few leaves, post a new pic so we can take a look again.

Daina, You said you had a lot of rain. It may be a possibility that the raindrops acted as a magnifying glass and burnt the leaves. (Especially if it has grown in a greenhouse environment) That happens here sometimes when the sun comes out and it heats up quickly after a shower. Look on the new leaf and see if you have any spots on it. It will acclimate to your weather and you shouldn't have any more problems with the next leaves. Just my thoughts on that.

Next time you operate your bench grinder, make sure it is not spraying on the Basjoo leaves.

I was wondering if some of the osmacote had gotten on the leaves.

I thought of that, and that is what I'm hoping is the problem , that will be easy to recover from and it hasn't developed any new spots, but you never know.
Thanks for the reply!
I was wondering if some of the osmacote had gotten on the leaves.
I looked in the stem part to see if any got lodged in it and I didn't see any. It seems to be okay, I haven't noticed any new spots. I make sure I move it now when it rains so it doesn't get water logged, since it is still getting used to Chicago weather and is still young.

I moved that old rusty grinder to the other side of the deck!
