I was wondering if anyone might think this is a flag leaf on my other dc. There is a stem below this leaf that it just put out.

I don't think it's a flag,just a damaged leaf.

It just looked to me like pieces are missing and it hasn't unfurled yet. Doesn't mean I'm right.

I thought it was flag until looking at the pic large. I agree with Tony.

Edit: Idk, the size of the end of the leaf never changes once it emerges and this one is smaller, I change my vote to flag.

I have to agree with the gentlemen after getting the close up look as well.. Maybe its another Flag of the flag? :^) Cause it looks like a smaller leaf than a normal top DC leaf even though its partially eaten...

My dwarf cavendish is over a year old it spent last summer in my greenhouse and all winter growing in the ground in my greenhouse.

It's a very small leaf in comparison w/ the others. I think you will soon get a flower.

I'm a bit confused as well, but looking back at his first post he said "other" DC, so perhaps he has another one already fruiting and that is the finger count on it. Just a guess.

Maybe he meant Sevendust, the heavy metal band! You blast them on the stereo really loudly as close to your plants as possible! The vibrations kill the grasshoppers in nothing flat! :) Just kidding, of course, but Sevendust is a good band.

We are having an outbreak of grasshoppers here in the Houston area this year as well, which is strange considering what this past winter was like here. I haven't seen any in my yard yet but I've seen several where I work. I hope they don't find my bananas!

We have experienced a small "outbreak" of Lubber Grasshoppers, like locust after periods of rain their eggs begin to hatch in great numbers. We also had a unusual period of rain this winter. So far I've stayed ahead of them using the "smash" method. :2239:
