I have what I now believe is a GoldFinger after getting some good info here.
I bought it at Costco last year put it in a pot and it grew to 3 feet before it went into the garage over winter.
I planted it in the ground in april and since it has been growing great. I think it is now at least 5 feet, on its way to six.

It is now early June in Dallas and our long summer is ahead of us.
If last year is any indication it will be early December before any frost set in but growing season (above 54F) should last until way into November.
So what do you think are my chances of seeing this little puppy bloom and produce some fruit before we get our first frost?

Are we talking TOTAL height or PSEUDOSTEM height? If you are speaking in total height, I'd say highly unlikely....if you're talking pstem height, I'd say 'possible' but again, not necessarily. Even if it DOES flower by the end of your growing season, it will require a good 4-6 months for proper development of the fruit...so honestly, I'd hope that it grows well this season and fruits early NEXT season.

Thanks for the quick response, I am talking P-stem height.
I am in Dallas so I either have to cage it or dig it up to have any chance of it flowering next season.

So in other words if I don't see a flower by July chances of getting fruit is very low.

We have various kinds of fruit in Thailand this season, e.g. durian, mangosteen, rambutan, etc. My mangoes trees has just finished giving delicious mangoes while oranges are now as big as lemon and will be able to pick in November.

I most of us in a moderate climate never give up hope. At the worst you could make a 6'x6'x height + 2'; wire frame and cover with plastic and put some christmas lights in there. That will prevent frost getting to it, as it get colder you may need the bigger bulbed lights to keep the temps in the 50's @ night. Oh yeah and hope we have a milder winter. :^)
