I tried to thank someone for a post and realized the button was gone from all new posts. What happened?

After a few days/weeks we can run a poll to determine what we liked best.

Well I believe the reason for the shift to the left is sometimes the pictures are so wide you have to scroll to the right. Now with the change it isn't required.. its just there. :^)

I like it on the left. It makes it easier to see if you thanked someone already.

Those are 2 good reasons.

I dont want to run a poll right away because it'll be knee jerk reactions.. lets try and get used to it like this and then we'll do a poll.
I still reach for the right side to look for it to click, I need to retrain myself also. But I think once I get used to it on the left, I might like it better. But I want to know what everyone else thinks, so we'll try and retrain ourselves where to find it, then run a poll to see what really is better for the community overall, after we all get some time knowing what both locations were like.

That's what I was missing yesterday. I wonder whether it stayed at home the other day and why it didn't show up for work. :D

Yeah, I talked to Jarred about the multi-quote button after reading several posts in the forums asking where it went. I thought it was a feature that people did use and liked to have on there. His concern was that it was unused and confusing to some, but I know quite a few of us that use it frequently. And if anyone here doesn't know how to use the multi-quote button, here are directions on how it's done (http://www.bananas.org/f5/lilraverbois-helpful-hints-11202.html#post122658)!

My vote is to bring back the multi quote. It does come in very handy sometimes. Just maybe let people know what it is by labeling it better? ... took me a while to figure that one out initially.

Along these lines, did the order of things change, or did I just hit something to scramble my machine? It used to be, right under the European section, "Other Plants". Now, it's, "Introductions".

Brain exercises are good!! Move it back and forth now and then! :ha:

John, yes, the main forums were rearranged slightly. One of the changes was Member Introductions was moved above Other Plants, rather than below it.

Bob, As for labeling the multiquote button, you can hold your mouse over it for a second for some text to appear that tells what it is. I think that making it more descriptive would just make it even more confusing, I would rather simplify it or get rid of it but the vote says keep it here, so it'll remain. If you want to be sure what it is, hold your mouse over it until the alt text appears.
I guess we could run a poll on that though if you think it would help..

My vote is definitely to keep multi-quote. I learned it shortly after I joined and it's a great tool that makes it a lot easier to reply to lots of issues clearly and in a single post!

I think all the buttons should be on the left bottom... :^)

Honestly, for me, it doesn't matter where the buttons are located, so long as they're all still there and remain in one location permanently. Regardless of where they are, I'll learn to remember where they are when I need to use them. TBH, I'm not a big fan of change, as it requires adaptation of existing mental protocol....which is kinda awkward to me at times.
