Well thanks to you guys I didn't cut it down and sure enough you were right, they fattened up and ripened. Yay! The bottom ones don't look as fat as last years bunch but for the beating they took this winter they look good. :) I had given up on this bunch when it broke over the winter. I propped it up after it fell and waited but after 6 months the bananas were looking pathetic I was ready to chop it down and give the nutrients to my new bunch that was just popping out. Well, you guys said be patient and now look! Thank you so much.

That's awesome! Looks like a great bunch...sure, maybe not as large as it could have been if the plant hadn't been compromised, but all in all, a success, nonetheless! I am glad you were patient and gave it a chance! Thanks for the update and congrats on the success! Enjoy one for all of us here at B.o!

Thanks guys. I really do love this website. :) It saved my bananas. I would have never made it through one bunch without this web site and everyones knowledge. I'm on my third from this plant and I have 5 others plants now in my collection. :) Best hobby and best website!

Very nice. And I agree on those lower bananas. They should be ripening somewhere inside for a while before you decide to eat them (or at least they seem a lil bit underdeveloped to me - they are smaller and have different shape). Upper bananas are looking very tempting and sweet. Yellow sweet.

Just picked this thread up in my feedburner subscription (http://feedburner.google.com/fb/a/mailverify?uri=BananasDotOrg&loc=en_US). Glad I saw it!
Congrats, that's one for the memory book for sure. Pathetic looking is right, but look at the bonus you got for sticking it out and waiting patiently. Congrats!

Well done Jen, thanks for posting. I may have an Ice cream with very few leaves( from being overwintered dormant) and now has one of those false flags" like Patty in Wisc. had on hers. If it does flower this year I'll do what it takes to save the bunch for sure.
