Funny thing is this plant was destroyed by the cold. All the leaves were gone and I thought I was just going to get some pups up from the bottom like I have on most of the other plants that were in the ground during the cold winter we had. But it shot out some new leafs and went crazy once it warmed up...

So when should I expect some fruit to eat?

Congratulations! I wish I could answer your question (when should I expect some fruit to eat?) but I'm still learning the connection between flag leaves and bananas, lol. Thanks much for the photo.

About 4 to 6 mos. depending on how many leaves are left to ripen the fruit.
Congrats on the flag and fruit!

Well CONGRATS!! To get a flag leaf on the most wanted plant (other than Ae Ae) has to be a real thrill!
The flower is out on my Ice Cream, so I'll share the excitement!! Keep us posted with pics. My pics are in the 'container' thread. I'll take more pics soon.

Here is an update on the flower. Not if its progressing the way its supposed to as this is my first fruiting banana. Seems like the flower is doing what it supposed to do but the fruit stopped getting any larger...some of the small fruit also have brown discoloration at the base. Is that normal or alright?

I think that your looking at the next four months. I have bunches that have been on my plants for over six months.
