Howdy.

Ok.. Well its the start of summer here in jolly old England.. So I decided to put my plants outside in the sun. I tried putting them out side a few weeks ago but the leaves started browning, so I took them back in....

I'm not sure about the roots.. when I first moved them they were pot bound and had nice big root structures. Now I have come to move them again they seem to have a tap root and not much else..
Also now I have put them out there is a slight browning of the leaves..

The photos are in my "my photos"..
Not quite sure how to link them to this thread..

But I can do them one by one if it helps :)

Welcome to the org. Martin. I have looked at the photos in your gallery, and you might like to start them in filtered shade first to get them over the shock - but the sunburn is only cosmetic. As you have overwintered them so successfully obviously you have the watering thing under control. Not sure about the root problem, but my advice would to be to leave them out with some sun protection and be mean with the watering until they start to grow. Of course with the weather forecast for Bank Holiday weekend - all this might be immaterial!!! Whereabouts are you located in the UK - looks a bit like Bucks.

Great nana growing area - they will be 10ft tall before you know it especially if you have the summer they are forecasting! If you could stretch some of that black woven shade netting over them for a while until they are acclimatised, that would help them a lot.
