This pup was planted on Aug. 9 08 and here it's starting to grow fast (May 10 09)

On July 19 09 we cut off 12 pups, 6 were big and 6 were small. I keep one large
pup and two small ones. By September the old mother had 12 more pups, but it
was too late to take them off. By December the weak pups died.

Here is a picture of the pups this week. The first 4 pups are the second group
of pups that were not removed from the mother. The 3 to the right are the pups
that were planted out. This picture shows 7 pups and there are 5 small pups
that you can't see. The pups seemed to grow better then the mature plants.
The five that flower this winter now have 21 pups that I counted. Most are
very small and a few are all white.

LOL...when I read 'got through the cold winter' I thought you had overwintered them in a much colder climate than Miami has :ha: But congrats on your success. Your plants look beautiful and healthy...glad they made it!

On the other side of the yard I had the mature plants. Five bloomed in the winter.
(2 in 2009 and 3 in 2010).

The two yellow marks are on the pups from the one that we could eat. When all
the leaves died I cut off the fruit and cut down plant. The pups are producing
some pups.
The two blue marks lost there mothers.
The two red marks are mothers that still have a few leaves.
The red and the blue ones produced a number of all white pups.
I not upset because this group now is showing 21 pups. Some are very
small and some will be white, But there will be a lot to give out at the
proper time.
