View Full Version : Dragon fruit: should I trim these back a bit?

Want Them All

I have a nagging suspicion that they're a little bit overgrown. Should I just let them grow wild, or remove a bunch of the side branches? I wanna do what's best for them to develop flower/fruits.

Thanks,

Give them something to grow over & hang off of. Seems I read that the blooms come from the segments that are growing over the top of trellis.

I've read the same flowers on overhanging branches. You can cut the lower branches and root them.

I dont know what is happening whit mines? They just refuse to grow. Still just sit there in the pots and drive me nuts?

Ante, do they have roots? What soil did you pot them in? If I remember, mine started slow too.

They do have a roots and they are in regular potting soil. I will maybe try to repot one in orchid bark to see what will happend. Or maybe this rainy weather just still keep them semi dormant?

You might cheek to see if they are staying to wet.

They like well drained but rich soil. Those little "hairs" are aerial roots which is normal. Next time you water give some fert like, 15-30-15.
