My plant that I bought from 1aday (see the plant on the left below)
<a href=http://www.bananas.org/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=26234><img src=http://www.bananas.org/gallery/watermark.php?file=26234&size=1 border=0></a>
was trampled :rollerbananadone::2705:today by workers working on my roof. I watched them all day yesterday so they wouldn't damage my plants.:2721: The truley tiney had a bucket over it so It wouldn't get damaged, and the pond had a cover. Today I had to go for half of the day and look at what *$&@#^ happened! The bucket was removed from the truley tiney, and my pond plants had snapped off leaves, stems, flipped over... When I looked around many other plants were damaged, but nothing was bad as this.:(
<a href=http://www.bananas.org/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=31501><img src=http://www.bananas.org/gallery/watermark.php?file=31501&size=1 border=0></a>
<a href=http://www.bananas.org/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=31502><img src=http://www.bananas.org/gallery/watermark.php?file=31502&size=1 border=0></a>
The truley tiney had grown a littel bigger than is was in the picture.
I cought one of them yesterday trampling my flower bead wile they were talking on a phone... They just had no respect. The problem was is that they could talk as good of english as I could spanish:sumbrero:... Which isent verry good. Next time tho the ending wont be so good... :2750::nanertank::2723::2703:

That damage would come right off their final payment

Wow, what a bunch of idiots. Dude if I were you, I would tell them either to repay me for all the plants they ruined or tie them to the roof. Sheesh, what a bunch of lozers.

Heres your check... Oh and I subtracted some money from it to pay for the damages you caused to my plants. If they got a problem with that let judge judy take care of the rest! :) I would be just as mad, maybe even madder if they did that to my plants. People just dont realize the value of plants in price and to the gardener. You can always buy a new one, but it will never replace that plant :(
I hope that they at the very least they pay for the damages and an apology would be nice too!
They looked like fantastic plants and I cant believe someone would have so little care for something like that!!!

Wow, what did they do, drive over it? they really smushed it good.
Back in WI the roofers took one of my huge pots (it was empty), and put it up on the roof with them and used it to hold all the stuff they were pulling off. I was shocked they would have the nerve to do that. I made my husband go yell at them for me while I hid in the house, heh heh.

Give them YOUR bill & deduct it from theirs... & don't forget pain & suffering LOL.
The nerve!
Definitely document with photographs all of the damage and deduct it from the bill. No judge on earth would decide against you. The prices for the plants would be easy enough to document as well using a few nursery price sheets. Do not let this go... if you can get a shot of one of these idiots blundering around in your flower bed get a photo of that too!

Well, today I was cleaning the plant up and I found two pups... Even better yet the stem is still firm!:woohoonaner: :goteam:

The good thing was that I had 2+ in of red lavarocks at its base so it didn't get flattened. Do you think I should leave the one green leaf on?
:nanadrink:Well I got $50 off after I reported the damage:nanadrink:

Yeah, if it's green, leave it on. Cut it off when it turns brown.

That sucks. They have to be pretty stupid or absent-minded to run something that obvious over. It's not exactly tiny (well, TRULY tiny :ha:) and is blatantly obvious in the location since it's not surrounded by weeds or anything. Glad you got some reparations from it at least, but that's still kinda unfortunate. I have no doubt that the plant will be just fine....merely set back a while.
Like Patty said, just leave the leaf for now...it'll probably turn brown in a little while since it looks bent off, but no harm leaving it for now.

I'd leave the leaf on till it got brown. :^)

Alright, at least its not dead. It will recover as long as that stem stays firm. I would leave the green leaf until it turns brown if it turns brown. I dont think it matters if it looks a little messy for a while since I got tramped on!
I hope it makes a full and beautiful recovery. Update us on its progress :) :) :)
Oh and make sure they at least know what they did.

You must have put a curse on me, Blake. I went out to my little basjoo I planted last Nov and it was broken off at the corm! Auugh! And we didn't even get a new roof, LOL.
I think one of our chickens must have tried to perch on it.

Well, the mother plant is gone but her two pups are thriving :woohoonaner:
<a href=http://www.bananas.org/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=32608><img src=http://www.bananas.org/gallery/watermark.php?file=32608&size=1 border=0></a>
<a href=http://www.bananas.org/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=32607><img src=http://www.bananas.org/gallery/watermark.php?file=32607&size=1 border=0></a>
I think the mother plant put all her remaning energy into the pups.

They look really good, Blake! What a coincidence, after not looking at my broken one for weeks, I went out to check it today. It too, is growing new leaves. Still very small, though.

Whattcho feeding those things????
Nothing at all. :chefnaner:
One is 6in the other is 7in. ooh I frogot the one that is 7 in tall has 6 leaves and 1/2 leaves. The 7 in one is the one with a little red in its leaf, the first picture, 2nd one over.
They get about 30 min of earley morning light, and shade all the rest of the day until about 12:30 and from 12:30 to about 5:00 and shade the rest of the day until night. You might also have the humidity of the pond that affects them too.

Im glad to see it come back for you! They look like - despite the set back - they will grow into beautiful plants.
Enjoy and update its progress as they get better and better!

Yeah, like I said...the plant itself will be just fine....merely set back a bit. The other fact to note is that the root system was not harmed at all, so the pups will likely be growing faster than most plants at that size. Thanks for the update!
