The $180.27 one that Jeff Earl just sold? Not me, but I was watching it too. I bought one from him last week and just received it and potted it yesterday. :) Didn't you just buy one from a nursery or someone a couple of weeks ago?

I'm amazed at the price these things go for. I just gave one away. Maybe I need to hit E-bay!

You should Brent! That is more than I paid for my Ae's!

Hey, I need to ask you something about a picture I saw in your blog. Are they all your personal pictures? Reason I am asking, I saw the same picture posted on a Craigslist ad here in Austin. ~J

I know! It's all what you are willing to pay!

A lot of people want to get their hands on that banana and when it is coming directly from Jeff Earl you can't get much better than that! I personally don't know the man, though I do know he is a member here and has some good personal friends here. I know he was very professional in his transaction with me, shipped quickly, and with good communication. He starts the auction at $29.00 with $10 in shipping which is more than fair, where they end up is anybody's guess.

Well, when it was at $29 I placed a $31 bid. It stayed that way for a couple of days. When I was outbid I figured I didn't want it that bad.:ha::bananas_b

Dean told me he was basically done & I helped run it up to $97 then I said that's enough for me w/ 3 hours left. :^)

I now have four..... a member here just gave me one.... no cash... no anything but good will among .org members... (Guess who?..... Hint:ha:). Ill be giving all my available pups away too but am collecting them since I believe this ,Ca. Cold Hardy, Veinte Cohol, Dwarf Namwah and SDC are my best shots at getting lucky here with flowering and fruit. I think $180:00 is nuts.... I paid Jeff $ 75 for one though and already had one.... still the novelty of getting one direct was appealing.....

We who have these should spread them around to other members here...I've never taken a dime from anyone here ... what goes around comes around guys...
Give a little get a little...

Cheers!

I agree Bob. Karma!

Are you going to keep them potted or put them in the ground and protect them or what? Just curious. ~J

3 are going in the ground and the corm I just got will go in a small and then 25 gallon this year... after all I've learned I think those in the ground do best by the end of the season though potted plants do best right off the bat.

Wow. Jeff and I were just chatting late last night and he never mentioned the craziness. I guess I better take better care of mine!

Jana,

Thanks again for the heads up yesterday on the dude using my photos. Hey, if you ever want to trade a 'Cal. Gold' for an 'Ae-Ae' just let me know.

At that price I think I'll get mine out of the greenhouse and get them in the ground.

I have 5 pups on my Calif gold and they are just starting to take on leaves. But the pups are either too big to ship or too small to dig (no roots yet). I'll have to wait a while before I can sell them.

Benny, you can always cut the pup shorter. If you've got a big pup with a lot of roots it will recover quickly.
