I just received my 4 musa basjoo starts and potted them all up in 2 gallon containers. I'm not really sure if they would grow faster in the ground or staying in pots where they can warm up. Would putting them on black pavement help them maximize their growth rate?

Here's some of my plants.

Planting them in the ground will allow them to have MUCH larger/healthier root systems which will result in maximal nutrients and thus, maximal growth. Beyond that, fertilize often, plant in a place with good soil (or amended to be so) and water as needed.

Plants look very healthy. :^) don't forget 60% sun or more in the ground :^)

I'm in need of a couple small musa's, can't find them locally, do you mind sharing where you picked those up? Thanks
