Can't seem to find specs on DR G M Levin Poms

Dr. Levin started his collection in Russia, then when funding ran out he moved a majority of it to Israel, and then a significant portion of it -- those he deemed worthy were placed in the USDA Germplasm Repository at Wolfskill Orchards (http://groups.ucanr.org/wolfskill/). You can read about this adventure in the book Pomegranate Roads (http://www.floreantpress.com/pomegranate_roads.htm).

From the collection at Wolfskill Orchards there have been annual taste tests but these results vary with the somewhat arbitrary collection of people that show up. I have been cataloging information on them from my yearly visits and consultations with the curators. A set of recommendations -- mainly for San Diego county is here:
Pomegranates (http://www.plantsthatproduce.com/column/PTP_2009_07_Pomegranate.htm)

The curators of the Wolfskill site have also begun cataloging information. You will find a complete list of their pomegranate collection (Dr. Levin varieties and non-Levin varieties) here:
Repository Inventory of Available Accessions for Punica granatum (http://www.ars.usda.gov/Main/docs.htm?docid=12856)
and more generally here:
Nat'l Clonal Germplasm Rep - Tree Fruit & Nut Crops & Grapes : Home (http://www.ars.usda.gov/main/site_main.htm?modecode=53-06-20-00)

If you want information about a specific pomegranate cultivar, go to this page:
Taxonomy Query for GRIN Species Records (http://www.ars-grin.gov/cgi-bin/npgs/html/taxgenform.pl)
then enter
Punica granatum
in the Genus/species box and click submit query, then click on the link to
Punica granatum L.
then click on
List all available sorted by name
then (finally!) find the name in the list and click on the link. You'll find pictures and possibly some data on taste near the bottom of the resulting page.
