Hi all. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a cold-resistant plantain variety? My father lives in inland central florida/zone 9 and would really like to start some. Any suggestions?

Dwarf Brazilian is said to be very cold resistant, AAB should be a plantain type, right? :02:

All Plantains are AAB, but not all AAB are Plantains. Dwarf Brazilian is not a Plantain.
Are you looking for a true Plantain or just any cooking banana (there is a difference).

Looking for something to make good tostones, so probably a plantain variety would be best.

I've heard that the Puerto Rican variety has good cold tolerance, and hopefully soon there will be some of those highland african types available.
