The one I got is all green, it has a stocky thick stem, but it was next to those reddish ones. It kinda looks like a Raja Puri, I'll try and post some pics.

I know...that's what was on the label.
Doesn't make good fruit....nice color though.
Here is the label:

It's from the family of the MusaMisLabel line of Dome Hepot

Ah, the trammels of the Home Depot mislabeled naners! :ha: At least your HD's carry bananas...ours here do not have palms or bananas. We do have a local greenhouse that sells some generic ones (siam ruby, E. maurelii, zebrina, SDC, etc) but again, typically very mislabeled. Pretty sure they had E. maurelii as 'red musa' or something vague and generally incorrect. I told the woman at the counter what they were, but she didn't seem to really care.

I posted a photo of it in member's galleries, I can't seem to post photos in my replies for some reason. The label says it produces large heads of 6" fruit with excellent flavor so we'll see. It's probably a relabeled Dwarf Cavendish.

that makes its description of "6" excellent flavor sweet fruit" a bit deceiving

SP leaves it a bit deceiving like the previous note said, since there's 50 or so banana's it could've been. Cheeka beats me.. :^)

"sp." is short for species, Musa is the genus name. So Musa sp. just means its some sort of banana ("Musa species"), but whoever made the label doesn't know or care to tell what species or variety it is.

Bargans can be had if you know what to look for. Most of your big box stores use the word 'species' on a lot of their plants because they won't pay the growers enough to make it worth while to name them. Sometimes you could get a great deal that way. For example, if you know what you're looking at, and you see "Musa sp." on the tag, you may pay $9.99 for it. You may see the same exact plant in another row, or another store with the proper id tag for $29.99 instead. Maybe even from the same grower.

I saw this plant labeled as Musa Cheeka at English Gardens in Ann Arbor. It's pretty small. It's less than 12" tall, in a small pot and appears to have two or three pups. I've seen some other pictures in the photo gallery with the same title.
