I think what I thought were Super Dwarf Cavendish might actually be Zerbinas. I went back to the garden store where I purchased the plants last year and found some plants that have the pictures on them that resembles the type of banana plants that I got.
The wiki did not have much info on the Zerbina banana plants and I was hoping someone here might have a lot of info on the Zerbinas.
Thanks,
Kat
//MODERATOR: Kat, I changed the thread name, you are probably referring to Zebrina, not Zerbina! That's the used name, Zebrina.

If these turn out to be SDC and not Zabrinas after, I may get some, just because of the coloring. They are so beautiful.

Zebrina usually has many more red spots on the tops of the leaves. However, the simplest distinction is that zebrina have reddish undersides to the leaves, SDC has green. Hope that helps.

Zebrinas also have a much smaller diameter pseudostem than SDC and longer, narrower leaves that are completely burgundy on the underneath side.

What zone are you in? Zebrina return each year for me in the extreme North of zone 8. Last Winter may have done them in though.
