Good to see your nanas are on the move. You will have to keep siam ruby inside every winter, cherokee greg,as i found out myself this winter, even with my greenhouse which was set at min temp 10c this winter,it deteriorated badly, that i had to bring it inside.

Mine are in the ground and it hit 35 this winter. They are not doing so great! Alive but tired looking.
I had RPs that were inground and in containers, the container plants were put in my unheated shop on nights that it was freezing, the inground plant pseudostem was protected, but did not make it--the corm is sending up a new pup now. The container plants lost all leaves, but are putting out new leaves now.
I have several inground Orinocos, some large stems were protected--they are mostly firm, but no new leaves yet--may cut them back a little more.
Many of the smaller ones that have been cut back are putting out new leaves.
I had Ice Cream, Dwarf Cavendish, Dwarf Orinoco in containers that were put in my unheated shop on freezing nights that are all putting out new growth.
I put my Dwarf Red and the unknown Red in my avatar in a partially heated greenhouse (a leanto that gets output from our dryer)--the Dwarf Red lost all leaves, but the stem is still good. The unknown red had several leaves that made it through the winter, but got broken by winds after I set them outside.
Our winter had several nights near 20 and one low of 19F.
Here are some pics of my bananas that made it:
This is the inground RP coming back from a pup:http://www.bananas.org/gallery/watermark.php?file=30700&size=1 (http://www.bananas.org/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=30700&ppuser=5736)
my unknown red (in my Avatar)--It had a full size leaf broken by wind last month:http://www.bananas.org/gallery/watermark.php?file=30702&size=1 (http://www.bananas.org/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=30702&ppuser=5736)
All of the other container bananas--RP (largest), IC (next largest), DO (3rd),
DC ( the cigar leaf in front)--the other small container is a RP pup.http://www.bananas.org/gallery/watermark.php?file=30703&size=1 (http://www.bananas.org/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=30703&ppuser=5736)

Nice Greg!
Mine are doing fine now. The unknown red has finally come out of the main stem. The only plants I lost were a Dwarf Red and a RP that had bloomed--the 2 pups with it did not make it. I have several other RPs that are doing fine--that one in the picture that was inground is now over 4 ft!
I lost all the inground stems, but all of them have put out new pups.
