I was the only one in our group that took the longer 15 point shot because it was -5 if you missed.

Woohoo Martin!
Well done. My kids are still too young for trips like that but I hope that our time will come soon for trips like that.

Looks like fun!! I haven't done archery since I was 13. My Dad made arrows for a side job & we practiced on bails of hay. I notice none of you are wearing those arm straps. I wizzed the inside of my forearm a couple times & YOUCH. Dad made them in his basement & if we needed money, it was the drill press or assembly for .50 cents an hour LOL. He had patents on 3-4 points & sold all over the world - besides his factory job.
You guys hunt with them?
Hunting w/ palm trees around would be a real treat LOL.

Actually patty 2 of the boys have arm guards on. My oldest(19) with the longbow has one covering his tattoo, he has a tattoo of a feather thats about 5-6 inches long on the inside of his wrist. The youngest as well...
I shot for 2 days and didn't hit my arm once.... lol
Haven't been hunting with the bows yet. Been just shooting targets for a number of years. Stopped for a few years and took it back up recently. Few years back I used to compete all the time locally. I used to have a really nice bow that I let someone borrow and they left it in a garage in the heat here strung and the limbs blew up. Borrowed a bow for this shoot. I am hoping to in the near future save up some money so I can buy another bow. The long bow my oldest son is using was made by my ex wife's father. He let me borrow the bow I was using for this tournament.
I scour craigslist daily hoping for a good bow to come up cheap... hehe
Thats pretty cool about your dad Patty!

Great pics. I miss target shooting. A friend of a friend has his own 3d target course on his property that I got to shoot once with a compound bow. I would lose all my arrows if I tried it with my recurve or longbow.:0517:
Nice pics--great activity for boys! Deer hunting with a bow is so much more exciting than hunting with a gun! You have to get so close and be so quiet while drawing the bow--so many chances to make a mistake and get caught! I have never shot a long bow--I shoot a compound, but it is over 30 yrs old--letoff is only about 25%.
