Well I can say after our extensive winter & cold mine looks unscathed, unlike a couple pindo's around here... :^) Good Luck I hope they do you well...

I would say about 30 days or so.......these were on a heating mat-24 hrs on and 24 off! I still have a lot that were put into flats that have not even germinated yet!

They are just Jiffy plant plugs, with a very fine mesh around the plug that expands when you add water- its all bio-degradable, and they work great!

I've used those too - I was wondering about them being biodegradable or not. Good to hear they are! And Jack Daw, in case you're wondering, Jiffy pot is a brand that make peat pots and such.

Bananadude, I too received seeds from randy4ut and my germination rate was about 85% so that means I have over 1oo little seedlings and no room for them.Half are about the size of yours and the other half havent poked yet but have alot of roots.Do you have them under lights now???window sill???
At least we will have a few palms to experiment with in our zone!!!!

If you don't want all of them, send a few my way! We can work out a trade or something if you want. I am trying to germinate some T. wagnerianus seeds, but no success yet. PM me if you want.

LOL........under light, no way.....I don't have room for any more lights......the sun room has no room with 24 bananas ranging from 2 foot to 7 foot.....the fortunei seeds are in seed flats on the floor....they will germinate this spring outside....I am in no hurry for those babies right now!
