Pretty sure you have to have an account set up with them to order so I would assume that is part of the process in setting up that account. My father in law has an account set up with them...
Since they are wholesale and don't charge tax you would have to have a tax id number...

As long as you have a tax id number, does it matter what industry you are in?

Well from a legal standpoint (disclaimer: I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice) your only supposed use that to purchase items that your business is going to resale and collect taxes on. I am not sure what agri starts policy is though.

I had a sellers permit which made me tax exempt for buying materials, tools etc. Even though I didn't sell tools, I was exempt because I used them for the business. What I sold, I had to collect taxes here, but if I sold to someone out of state, they didn't have to pay tax - called 'interstate commerce'. Example: we have Jung nursery here in Wisconsin (I'm sure you've seen their catalog?) Only Wis residents who order have to pay tax. There are some 'wholesale only' places around here that won't even let you in the store without your seller permit or numbers.
Dunno, I thought someone ordered from AS retail - without tax ID #, but I think you have to buy a large flat(???)
