A few weeks ago my little Dwarf Cavendish started to pump out new leaves, she had 4 total when I washed all the soil away and transplanted into hydro, lost all but 1 and almost lost that one but now within in the last few weeks she's really came back, working on the 3rd new one now. I have yet to add any nutes, just tap water, in the rest of my hydro systems I use only reverse osmosis water cause my tap water here is 350ppm so I imagine there is plenty of good stuff in there for it. The roots are growing out the bottom of the 3gallon grow chamber too. I did it mid way threw December and it took this long to recover, almost gave up but thankfully I didnt.

It looks like your using a self watering pot?
You can pick up a combo pen on Ebay pretty cheap. The best meter I have found is the tri meter..............................PH, Temp, and TDS. Remember if your using RO water there is little to no PH buffer. Keep the PH in the 5.2-5.8 range. First add your nutes then check the PH. Water temp between 68-72 if possible. I think most of that 350ppm is Calcium, but without a water test I am guessing. If you call up one of those water filter places they usually send someone out to test your water for free. On the pretence that you will buy one of their filters LOL. Keep your ppm between 850-900ppm and you should be fine. If you don't have an idea on nutes go with General Hydroponics Bloom and Micro. These two have enough Nitrogen for a passive system like yours without adding the Grow. Keep the ratio at 1-1-2 on the NPK........using 8ml micro, 16ml bloom should get you there. GH has directions on mixing on line for you to use. Make sure you have plenty of air in your bottom water. Add a small air stone and air pump if you don't.
Oh yeah.....forgot to mention. If your roots are growing out of the 3 gallon, time to re-pot. Try a black 5 gallon inside a 10 gallon Brute. That will give you a couple of months.........LOL Good Times

Chris thats a WaterFarm (drip ring is burried) I do need bigger buckets but were moving in 2 months so I dont want to go get something bigger.
I have quite a few different hydro systems growing all different things, but thanks for the advice. In most everything else I use Advanced Nutrients and have use GH in the past, I also use RO water but really since I'm not going for yield or rapid growth with this just the tap water has been good so far and I will feed it once a month with light nutes and RO water.

That's great man.The Dwarf Cavendish is now growing properly. I had tried it few days a go but it died soon and that all of my experiment and efforts came to nothing. But here looking forward to your plant looks like a good one.

How is your plant doing now? Did you end up transferring it to a bigger container?
