3 weeks ago, i started grafting my plum tree and it looks bad at first.
cause nothing was going on but then, this week the buds are popping slowly and 8 of the 9 spice graft i did is alive and growing.........

BUT i used plastic wrap to hold then together only. about 6 to 8 layers..of it.

Question: it been 3 weeks, and the buds are starting to open now...

should i take the wraps off ?
or leave it on ? but for how much longer?

appreciate any advice.........thank you

I usually use wax (candle wax, not the gardening wax) to fix the bond between some sort of holding material and the graft. Once the graft is strong enough, it will break through the wax and holding textile and no manual removal is necessary. ;) But the best time for plum grafiting is April-June, depending on the climate. ;)

I say leave it till april.. time get some strength and hopefully it will stretch your wrap in time, but you can still remove it. :^)
