Hi all,
i`m very new to this forum and growing bananas.
After reading a few of the different threads can someone please tell me what the "meristem " and "pseudostem" are.

Meristem is secondary tissue, which hasn't lost its ability to reproduce or "copy" itself.

Pseudostem is that part of banana, which seems like a stem of other plants or what could be described as trunk in case of the trees.

Someone will maybe post some better defintions, but these might be sufficient for your imagination.

Those are good definitions, Jack. I might add that the meristematic tissue is basically what we consider the growing point, deep inside the pseudostem.
