Im Starting Too Build Me A Small Replica Of A Rain-forrest Out Of A 75gallon Fish Tank...does Bamboo Grow In The Rain-forrest Even? If Not What Would Be A Good Starter Plant For This Project...that I Could Get Seed For?

If you're going for a 75-gal rainforest-type environment, start with small Aroids - something like Caladium or perhaps Anubias are good ones. You can get live Anubias at fish stores; Caladium would have to come as a live plant from a distributor like Ecuagenera (http://www.ecuagenera.com). Mosses and orchids are also good plants for tank ecosystems. Are you doing a partial riparian (water in the bottom) setup, or a terra-firma style planting area?

Bamboo doesn't grow in the rainforest proper; it's a native of the higher altitude cloud forests, which are cooler. I can't speak on the Old World species, but all of the New World tropical bamboos get quite large and would quickly overpower a tank situation - Chusquea and Neurolepis in particular produce canes in excess of 10 feet long. However, Papyrus and false papyrus will give you a similar look withouth taking over.

Hey thanks lorax...all im doing is sealing up this 75g tank real good and installing a fogger/mister and a few small fans...but all i want is the fog/mist and humidity for...is the look of it-i allways liked that look...but also would love to grow plants in there too...but no standing water only fog/mist...and id like to keep plants in small pots in ther also!
