This is a plant that I found, in Florida (Orlando). Apparently it blooms in the summer, because, usually by the time I get there, (September) I only find seed pods, which sprout quite easily. This year, I found one late blooming stray flower. I don't think it's in full bloom here; kind of half way between bud and flower. Does anyone have any idea what it is? I think it's either some kind of iris, or lily.

Purchased one this past summer and have it in a pot inside right now. Here is a link for a little info that I believe what your plant is:::

Butterfly, or African Iris Dietes (http://aggie-horticulture.tamu.edu/extension/newsletters/hortupdate/june05/Dietes.html)

Yeah, it definitely looks like some type of Iris...I don't know any more specifics to give ya beyond that.

Randy is correct but they are not a true Iris species.
